Difficulty difference or age difference?

I played classic when I was 13 or 14 and I remember that one of the harder quests I did on my mage was trying to escort that prisoner to westfall with all those hostile defias. The pillagers I remember hitting like a freight train with their fireballs and being like “why do my fireballs hit for less than theirs do?!”. When I played the blizzcon classic demo, they didn’t feel like they were nearly as threatening. Does it feel that way on beta for anyone who has a key for it? ( I was curious if they had tweaked the numbers to make it feel more approachable for the demo)

I know for me, I don’t think I’ll be able to go full bore and get into raiding for classic but I was still interested in getting to 60 and running all the dungeons again as well.

Pick a game you had trouble playing when you were young of a genre you’ve been playing this whole time. I guaranty you that your younger self will feel like they suck.

We all sucked. I mean think about it, you were probably clicking, keyboard turning, and you just read this cool tips and tricks website that talked about something called ‘chain casting’ to do more damage. lol

I mean tbh if moonbrook is fully spawned escorting the defias traitor is pretty hard

I would keep in mind that regen rates on the demo were insane, and it was barely a pre-alpha…

I was picking my gear based on the amount of armor it had completely ignoring the other stats. I did that up to almost level 60. I actually did the same in Diablo (=

Lol that was my thought, I mean, I remember trying not to use thotbot for most quests, but I broke down for the last half of my aquatic form quest because I took my druid across to the other side of the world as soon as possible to play with friends lol.

And I just wanted my guy to look cool. Yea blue items were cool, but that blue hood was cooler than any stats haha

Alright, that was part of what I was thinking of and I wasn’t sure if I was crazy or not, but it felt like health and mana were coming back a lot faster for me but I thought I was just being critical.

I think it has to do with experience. I would joyfully crush my past self.

God I was soooo bad in vanilla. Clicked everything, keyboard turned, bought grey items from vendors cause armor!, never tab targeted, clicked on people and then clicked heal to heal them. Would run out of mana and die all the time. Didn’t keep food/water on me. Never had invebtory space.

I gave up on my first character who was a priest because I was so excited and amped for holy nova because it sounded so cool, but then I would die to swarms of murlocs I pulled and angry it wasn’t killing them lol. This is is my original druid (minus the two race changes over time.) that i rolled after i realized I couldn’t hack it solo as a priest.

lol same here and I didn’t check the stats on gears till I was past level 20.

It’s probably a combination of things. Better game knowledge, more skill, better understand of stat allocation at low levels, and so on…

I farmed and farmed to get enough gold to buy a Warden’s Staff for my mage. I mean, it was purple!

Eventually I figured things out, but it was way deep into Vanilla.
