Different future for Xal'atath

Given the latent trend of every addon and the same cliche story involving a bad guy.

Bad guy / girl / monster rises.
Bad guy / girl / monster terrorizes.
Heroes rise to quell the terror.
Heroes slay the bad guy / girl / monster.

I am wondering if it would be different with Xal’atath for once. Enemy of my enemy or something. True she desires power, to what end we still do not know. But i am curious to wonder if just once even something as dark and evil as her turns a leaf or becomes something different.

If anything let her work with us against the Void. Xal wishes to claim azeroth for herself but works against the void or other forces to get her way. Something interesting for once, like Azeroths shadow. (Ponder the thought.)

It’s always the same boring story of the Light. Xe’ra was the only wild card for once, when Illidan destroyed her.

We saw how events at the end of BFA led to Azshara turning over the blade to assist - albeit willingly - to defeat N’zoth. We saw how Sylvanas restoration of the other half of her soul made her more aware of her actions.

Could we not possibly see something different with Xal. I mean just once I wouldn’t mind something different than the same boring cliche of every void villain. If anything, re-imprisoning her in another form opposed to just killing her would be more interesting.

Like Myzrael from Arathi Highlands/Deepholm.

We can’t rely on the blade since it was likely destroyed. But there are other options.

A quote from an Eve Online Chronicle: “People are people with good and bad sides. Good people can perform terrible deeds, Bad people can perform impossible wonders.”

At the very least, we were told at the initial Worldsoul Saga announcement that we would be losing majorly in the following expansion Midnight. I take that to mean they’ll continue to build on Xal’atath much more than other new villains, which is definitely a change for the better. However, I can’t see us entering an alliance of convenience, though possibly another attempt at imprisoning her? Granted, I do think this is unlikely as imprisonment clearly hasn’t worked in the past.
