Dietary habits of WoW playable races

Just wondering if there were any playable races in the game that lore wise eat only meat

My money is on the worgans. As well as unnatural fear of a vacuum cleaner

Tauren do a lot of hunting , though there are also farmers. Orcs tend to stick to boars. Trolls outside of the Darkspear are cannibals.

As far as Alliance, I honestly doubt Worgen eat only meat. They’d probably prefer it more often now, but they’re also classy folks and likely still eat breads and vegetables and fruits.

I think that’s honestly about it that might have a high diet if meat. Only meat, though, not even animals irl eat solely meat.

They prefer it rarer now, raw even, perhaps struggling

I’m against Keto in wow

I spent way too long looking up all the food and drink vendors in the game because of this thread…

Most races are obvious omnivores. A few standouts:

Tauren/Highmountain have mostly fruit/veg/bread products on their vendors, no meats outside of innkeeper ‘standard’ thing which I don’t count. However, I’m 99% sure I remember at least a couple quests involving fish for both of those races, so I’m still going Omnivore.

Nightelves are vegetarian as far as I can tell.

Worgen have a high meat diet but they also specifically have a Pie vendor which sells fruit pies so they can’t be considered an all meat diet.

Pretty sure Blood Elves eat nothing. Maybe less.

I think the rl animals that eat only meat are called Obligate Carnivores i know tauren like kodo

Not that I know of. About the only Azerothian “sentient” that is purely carnivorous are gnolls, but they’e unplayable.

As for kaldorei, they’re not vegetarian. They also like insects and arachnids as part of their diet, if Kaldorei Spider Kabobs are any indication. They probably quite enjoy meat as an aside.

Undead? Do other races count? :stuck_out_tongue:

I am a very hungry lady, I honestly prefer the souls of the Dead. My favorite being souls of the Sin’dorei because of the delightfully sweet taste of their countless centuries of experience during their lifetime.

i thought undead ate mushrooms but at first i thought maybe trolls or forsaken but it looks like worgen is going to be the closest so far, and to the comment about keto in wow keto is not necassarily all meat nuts, seeds, avocados, low carb and low sugar fruit and veggies are keto but if you were to eat all meat you would be inadevertly doing keto.

They seem salty to me

Looking for a carnivore race? Yeah, your best bet would be worgen. Wolfheart uses the word carnivore, and shows even Genn hunting on all fours. Before the Storm has Anduin say he appreciates the worgen in his army because they can hunt to feed themselves. Curse of the Worgen shows the predator instincts and hunger for meat, Dark Riders shows even more in terms of cannibalism, and several NPCs ingame voice a hunger for meat.

The leader turned to Jarod again. The long muzzle came within an inch of the night elf’s nose. Jarod could smell the carnivore’s thick breath, but did not show any distaste for the odor.
Wolfheart pg 243

Notice carnivore. Not just predator, and not omnivore, but carnivore.

Ahh! Good point, I’d forgotten about that.

Now if only they would let worgen be monks or if they had a worgen that started as dwarf instead of human

Undead for obvious reasons.
