The mines that dudes place in Gnomer killed me while I had Light of Elune active.
IDK if it was a bug or not. Pretty upsetting though.

doubt it. explosions just tend to be bugged in this game. like the grenades in dun modr flagging you 
They aren’t “bugged”, they just aren’t flagged the same in the system so they act as environmental damage. Which is probably what caused the OP’s problem.
Light of Elune is all sources of damage except 4horse marks
