When I was in Desolace it seemed pretty even. Then I went to STV and there were about 40 horde hanging out at nesingwary and a few scattered alliance corpses. How bad is the balance on this server?

Doesn’t sound like PvP servers are for you.
Feel free to re-roll on a PvE server.

I saw a census that said they were like 75% horde and by far the worst balanced server. Your server is almost all Alliance btw.

My server is also PvE.
You see, unlike the OP, I understand that I don’t like world PvP. So rather than come to the forums to complain about getting ganked/camped, I avoid it all together.

World pvp is fun when things aren’t too far off 50/50 like my realm. His is like a little pocket of hell though.

They also noted at the bottom of the wowhead post that only players who downloaded the census addon were recorded for data. That makes wowhead an even bigger troll than most of the retail posters.
Despite that tidbit yes stalagg is a horde server just like all the others.
Anyone not confident in themselves will roll horde. It’s the easy way of going about it. Have you ever played Oregon trail?
Banker=horde
Farmer=alliance
And both are still fun.

World PvP isn’t fair. It wasn’t fair in 2004. It’s not fair now.
Either get a group for safety in numbers, or re-roll.
Stalagg is like a 90/10 server, though.

How extreme does it need to be before you abandon the “maybe pvp is not for you”. Do you think there should be a limit on how extreme the imbalance should be?
What if every player except 1 on Stalagg was horde? Would you then tell the 1 alliance player to suck it up?

No, honestly I don’t. You roll on a PvP server for the world PvP, which is not going to be fair/balanced. You know, war and all.
However, I’m sure if things get crazy, Blizz will offer free faction changes again. I honestly expect that to fix nothing, just like when it was offered on retail.
I mean, why give up the advantage? If you’re Horde and are on a Horde-dominated server, how likely are people willing to switch to Alliance to get camped?
Exactly, which is why the excitement of world pvp on pvp servers is largely a myth. Most pvp’eres avoid fights that are remotely even, as evidenced by the extreme faction imbalances on pvp servers.

I dont play on the server, but the census for stalagg is 27% alliance to 73% horde… not sure you would want to be on that server either.
Grobbulus is an RPPVP server, good population, 50/50 alliance horde. And ganking doesn’t seem to be a given.
Yea no. There’s a difference between “I occasionally get ganked by a group of [opposing faction]” and “every single zone is overrun with one faction all the time”.
That’s not PvP. It’s just P.

the old balance dosnt matter because its a game trope aye? well why don’t they make mlg counter strike matches 10v4 that would work well.
Are people more friendly since it’s a RP server? Is it easier to find groups if you’re not warrior/mage/healer? I’m not enjoying my time on Stalagg as an alli hunter, people have the min/max mindset too much.
