Did you notice how Blizzard always twists Alliance requests?

Alliance asks for High elves? Give them void elves.
Alliance asks for Vrykul? Give them fat humans.
Alliance asks for Sethrak? Give them trash gnomes.

Horde asks for Zandalari? Sure brother whole new zone and new allied race for you.
Horde asks for Vulpera? Got your back.
Can we get un-hunched orcs? Sure here you go, here’s some mag’har orcs too you’ve wanted for a while.

Ion: “I haven’t played Alliance in 15 years, and I’m proud.”

Imagine game director being proud of not playing the other faction.

Well the Alliance do ask for unrealistic things. Vrykul and sethrak make no sense to join us. High elves are blood elves, so that’s also a no. Blizz is fine to not do them.

Edit: My goodness. I’m seeing this a lot. My wording for “high elves are blood elves” might not be the best, but you know what I mean. They’re physically the exact same people.

Lore reasons don’t matter here. That’s why they aren’t playable because it’s not a new allied race, it’s just giving blood elves to Alliance as they are now with no changes besides blue eyes. Blizz doesn’t want to repeat what they did with pandaren.

High elves are not blood elves, blood elves are high elves. High elves are the original Quel’thalas elves, and we’ve had them since before blood elves were blood elves.

Vrykul? Maybe Sylvanas trying to enslave Eyir?
Sethrak? Vulpera join the Horde, and Vulpera and Sethrak hate each other’s guts.

Because they were told multiple times no, and that they were already Horde.

I’ve been asking for Ogres for years. Still haven’t got them on the Horde. When that day comes though…

Alliance was never going to get Sethrak.

Both sides did quests for them . THe rep the horde got from their wqs went to Vulpera. The rep the Alliance got for doing their WQs went towards 7th Legion which opened up Dark Irons.

I’d be all over ogres if they ever came out. xD

I meant physically and culturally they’re the same thing aside from their eye color. That’s why Blizz chose the more unique void elves instead. Because they didn’t want to blur the faction lines by copying blood elves to Alliance. That’s not a new allied race.

And we’ve had no interaction with vrykul in BfA aside from that one druid in Drustvar. Vulpera and sethrak don’t hate each other either. The good sethrak worked with the vulpera to defeat the evil emperor, they’re at peace now.

Same. I love the Alliance, but I’m sorry I’d roll Horde so fast if that happened lol.

Blood Elves are what the majority of the High Elves of Quel’thalas renamed themselves so yes Blood Elves are High Elves.

Can’t believe I’m posting in a Human Male Meme thread

That’s not tears, that’s the pee, don’t drink it.

You forgot the Alliance request in Legion: “Can Nightborne be a playable race?”

Also - Vulpera wasn’t a Horde request. It was an everyone request… which makes your point even stronger, actually, because how else do you benefit Horde AND twist Alliance’s request at the same time.

Well, considering the foxes ran to join the horde, it would make sense for the snakes to go to the alliance and join them, since the two races don’t seem to like each other much. That’s plenty hamfisted enough for WoW’s lore.

Yes they are, and they’re on the Horde.

Yeah and it’s not hard to twist lore. Like look at Nightborne, Tyrande mean, blood elves good, boom Horde race.

Maybe because when we ask for things they actually fit in with the lore and the backstory of the game.

Gilgoblins were it, what you were supposed to get as goblin allied race, but nah, Hordes want dem Vulperas, gotta give Horde fans what they ask.

On High Elves-- they flat out said no. There was no twist to that.
