I’ve got two Monks. One for the Alliance, one for the Horde.
I was faced with the thought: how do I make them unique in their character builds? Personality. Fighting, etc.
I decided to base the Alliance character on Street Fighter. Flashy kicks, fireballs, Ryu, and not killing people.
My Horde monk I was inspired by Mortal Kombat. X-Ray moves for breaking bones, Fatalities, Liu Kang.
Curious, what inspiration did you use?
lmao.

I created my Tauren out of revenge since after a heated argument and called a cow I then got to yell “How did you know I play a Tauren?” when the same person would call me a cow when we got into future arguments. (There long gone from my life but the Tauren stayed because of Warstomp.)
And yes, yes I have a female worgen too.

After watching Warrior on Netflix and then a Goblin Cartels patch coming out I wanted to theme my monk a little more grounded and low fantasy.
My Guardian Druid I love mechanically but I’m not into the whole nature lovin tree huggin deal, so I’ve been theming him as more of a Jekyll/Hyde alchemist with the werebear form.

I have no idea what that means lol
Here are some potential reasons why:
- If it’s a reference to a movie, I don’t watch many movies.
- If it’s a reference to a song, I don’t listen to music.
- if it’s a reference to a book, 99.9999% of what I read is either comic books and manga or technical books.
- If it’s a reference to a game, I only play games that are funny and/or hot.
- If it’s a reference to American politics, I’m not American.
I know, I’m quite boring lol
As far as character builds go, I don’t typically take any particular thing as inspiration. I have taken to sometimes naming talent builds after certain things, but they aren’t explicitly inspired by those things if they’re references. A build I made on one of my Monks, for example, I named Ansatsuken.
As a rper, some of the characters I portray have some direct inspirations. One character I’ve potrayed on this Monk, Zhaoyang Cloudpaw, was primarily based on Zatoichi, and by extension the general trope of the blind combatant. Like Ichi, she was a skilled swordsman, working as a traveling masseuse, who initially favored an inverted grip on her sword.

If you look at your thumb and index finger it sort of looks like a J
Then you have 3 more fingers, and Jill has 3 letters
I don’t know if I can explain it more than that

All of my characters are based on something.
My warlock was loosely based on Richard from LFG.
My evoker was based on one of my Kobold D&D characters.
My other evokers were similarly based on other Kobolds I played.
More or less all of my tauren were based on cow puns.
