Thinking about the state of the game currently, things like the areas, story and activity options are looking ok.
However, on the other hand, things related to the fun factor are somewhat lacking, things that should be pillars for the game.
I notice, among other things, the game’s excessive focus on dependence on gold and crafts, to obtain advantages over other players.
which should only come from the content that the player do (and accessible to everyone) in the game and not from the money he has.
Another point that distorts the fun of the game in PVE and especially in PVP is the design of the classes.
In each spec now with few exceptions, you must use 45 buttons while playing, which means that in addition to making the gameplay complicated and confusing, you play looking at the skill bar most of the time and and looks little at the rest of the screen, losing perception of the wonderful visuals of the game.this is bad.
mop and wod for example, in my opinion ,they had the best class design as the gameplay was simplified and more fluid, and you could enjoy the game’s visuals while pressing its buttons. This should be a base part of a game, right?
I think these things should be more worrying points for devs because it can be seen that the development of the game is improving in terms of visuals and history, but it goes against the grain in terms of systems, gameplay and the fun factor.
The gameplay and class design seem to get worse. And in the end, combined with too many systems(most from professions now), they make the game boring and tiring.
LMFAO looking at the past through nostalgia tinted glasses dude Online communities have always been toxic its not any worse now then it was back then dude.
This still happens in every dungeon… wtf kind of weird poem is this?
Exactly. I dont play solo specifically because I want to. I just at times dislike the community. It’s not the same one I played 20 years ago when I met the people I would form a guild with and then built 2 others as we got more hard core. There doesnt have that social feeling.
I love delves as a solo option. Even knocked one out before logging in to work today. But any group content makes me frustrated. Either lack of basic etiquette or basic knowledge
Players used to rely pretty heavily on one another for information. Now it’s all laid out for us on wowhead and icyveins. I enjoy the convenience and transparency, but I do commonly miss the camaraderie from back in the day. It still exists, but it seems to take a lot more effort to find than it used to, lol.
Honestly, on this new account I’ve just parked myself at 70 for a couple days getting my rotations down in Follower dungeons and getting a full set of 460 before purchasing TWW. Those NPCs are better than , no joke, 85% of the actual players I have ran dungeons with the last 15+ years. It’s a shame they aren’t available yet for higher content.
To be fair, I still carry this philosophy and budget my time accordingly, but I’m not going to lie either.
Anyone who has been here since the RTS or Vanilla are old now. And I simply don’t have time or extra time the way it was designed to be.
It’s like there are quests now where I can “optional” teleport to the location than fly to it. The game is much more designed for quick and easy than long and tedious
In 2004, I had all the time in the world. I miss it constantly
Its more the game is to easy. 1 to max can be done naked casting whatever the game assigned your number 2 key without issue.
Modern audiences call that dull. Worse there is no really difficulty curve in wow. Its fall asleep easy for the terrible players then welcome to mechanics land in mythic.
Because the game was new, not everyone read guides and most peoole sucked at the game.
Watching old pvp videos you see how things back then were considered “l33t skillz” are the norm today. Players now are better than before. And that js true for lots of games not only wow.
