Did we save Azeroth? Big Sword?

Hey I have a number of 120 characters - have unsubscribed, subscribed so many times in BFA - I’ve lost track: did we actually save Azeroth? You know that big sword is still sticking in it. Did I forget or miss a final quest?

The sword has been sanitized. It’s no longer poisoning Azeroth. We killed N’Zoth who then poisoned her. All is well. She just… has a sword in her. No big deal.

She’s stabilized. Taking the sword out would just be injuring her all over again.

That sword is a Vorpal +5! Azeroth is keeping it.

The sword being stuck in Azeroth appears to be fine, the only major issue turned out to be the initial wound and then the corrupting energy in the sword from Sargeras which we siphoned out of the sword with our artifacts.

If I were a betting man, when the day Azeroth hatches finally comes they are going to hatch with a purified version of that sword and ready to take on the universe!

Pretty sure when titans wake up they nearly destroy their home world. It’s like a big egg. For that reason I doubt we’ll ever see Azeroth in a physical form. Plus Blizz probably wants to dangle that carrot in front of us for all time to keep people interested in the game.

We’re going to follow the tale of Sylvanas Windrunner which is more important than fixing the biggest problem Azeroth is facing.

And she’s also causing problems opening a hole to the Shadowlands.

The giant sword that was the central problem in the premise for BFA even after being cleansed? No, we never solved that problem. Other stuff came up, I guess?

I actually found myself yelling out loud at Magni during/after the final cinematic, “But… WHAT ABOUT THE SWORD???”

You clearly weren’t paying attention whatsoever if you think the sword was the main premise of BFA. The problem the sword caused, her bleeding out from the wound, has been solved when we healed her heart chamber. We’ve stopped the bleeding entirely and removed the corruption from the planet/that wound specifically.

Dwarves don’t make good doctors.

Patient “I got a sword sticking out of me”
Doctor dwarf “ahh you’ll be fine lad”

How would you get rid of the sword? It’s larger than Mount Hyjal. We are open to suggestions, Champion.

i like they left the sword in. it looks cool.

well, maybe that’s the first problem…getting a doctor to fix a sword stuck in a planet.

Doctor Dwarf: “Let’s get it out! It’s HAMMER TIME! Let’s do this!”

That’s the answer! We take a giant hammer and bash it the rest of the way through Azeroth till it comes out the other side. The hilt sticking out of Silithus will be hidden, which is all that matters. We never go to the other side of the world, so it will be out of sight, out of mind.

Ummmmm… Planet definitely kept bleeding throughout the expansion. Heart chamber was only one urgent part. Magni definitely kept saying she needed healing really badly…

Ji Firepaw had a plan to remove the sword, but nobody is letting him close to THAT MANY explosives.

My vote would be to disintegrate the sword using some sort of orbital bombardment platform. I could have sworn we had one somewhere; where did that go again?

Which BFA did you play, because it wasn’t the BFA I played. The premise was healing Azeroth not pulling out the sword. Clearly, we healed Azeroth without pulling out the Sword and considering the planet is just the “egg” of Azeroth’s form I don’t think keeping the Sword in the shell is all that critical. Again, never heard Magni once say “Champion, we need ta pull the sword out ASAP!” it was always “Champion, we need to heal Azeroth!”

So from what I saw in the expansion, healing Azeroth and pulling the sword out of Azeroth were not inclusive to each other.

Next, considering how far that sword was plunged into the planet it would present two problems pulling it out. First, where is it going to be placed without causing mini-cataclysm to near by zones? Considering how long that sword was and how far it was plunged its at least as long as half of Kalimdor or the Eastern Kingdoms. Second, what are we going to do about that excessively deep and vast hole that leads straight to the heart of Azeroth? For all we know that sword is keeping Azeroth’s life force plugged up and inside and is keeping easy access to the depths of Azeroth blocked off.

Its entirely possibly that pulling that Sword out would be more detrimental to the planet than keeping it right where it is. Again, nowhere in the story was it about “We gotta pull the Sword out!” as it was about simply healing the planet.

That’s just crazy enough to work! Build this Tauren a statue!

i say we sell it for ad money. Who wouldn’t want their name nailed to a giant sword that everybody could see. Swampy would give up his…forth born for that.
