I am curious though what does /spit do for you as the player? Call me all the names you like because we know IRL you wouldn’t dare say one of those words to someone face to face. But I am really curious what does /spit do for you? Does it make you feel strong? Does it give you excitement? a thrill? I am sure you won’t engage in a real conversation but I am really curious what the emote did for you as a player.
let’s me express my anger for prot pala players since I can’t msg them mid match.

Good post! You’ve read DN hey? It was so surprising to see someone so high profile study the toxicity in arena and the use of /emotes
So /spit lets you express angry. So as a prot paladin in your case which: why even aloud tanks to pvp but that is aside the point you /spit at players to express the anger you have because you are not a healer, or a dps, but someone designed to soak damage.
So lets say you are not a prot paladin but…an accounting and your boss throws papers onto your desk and laughs at you in paycheck. Do you spit at your boss because you are angry you now have more work midday? Or does the argument flip to: ‘that’s real life, this is a game’ - But isn’t the player you are spitting at once (or none stop) A person in the real life as well?
So as long as you feel some type of way it negates the way the other person feels because the focus is your anger: Unless of course it would be in something where real repercussions could happen then you wouldn’t do it (I.E spit in your bosses face and watch the lights go out as he knocks you out: IRL) So it is a “It makes me feel bigger then I really am off wow and in my day to day life” type of mind set. Awesome, Glad that is more clear now.
