Did they nerf doubloon drop rate?

I’ve only gotten one since 8.1 out of the 8 or so expeditions I’ve run. Did they nerf it or is my RNG just bad this week?

I wouldn’t be surprised. Blizzard is really bad about making changes to the game and not saying anything to anyone about it.

I am pretty sure they nerfed it - I don’t recall getting any since 8.1 but then I probably have only done a handful of these since then. I used to regularly get as many as 8 dubloons from one.

I have been getting more of doubloons but a lot less of quest items and transmog stuff.

I am sure they also removed the doubloons you used to find around the island, I haven’t seen a single one since they changed the system.

it “feels” to me that i’m getting less…but it may be less frequent with bigger drops when it does happen. my main is over 400 and thats a long ways away from the 1k i want for the oddly interesting mount

I farmed about 1800 coins in about 650 ies before 8.1 not sure if the droprate is comparable, I mainly spammed normals to solo them. I prefered the targeted system because I hate getting the same stuff again, maybe they can make it so you can not drop the same stuff twice on the same character, getting the same pet for the 8th time isn’t useful.

Yes, I have noticed a big drop.

i have noticed the same it seems like i get coins semi regularly however they are in smaller amounts then before. also seems like i get less MOG items and way fewer faction items

I am curious if you are doing the same difficulties before and after - I noticed you indicate some are heroic and some are mythic, does that mean all the rest are normal and are you doing these in pug groups or with a group of friends ?

I haven’t done any heroic after the loot changes (although I have to), I did mosy expeditions on normal (134/140).

I pug every run, to see variety is kind of refreshing, once I was part of a gnome only run lol, and I don’t really have anyone I can ask to join me in those runs.

Ok, just asking because I used to do these with my friend and I would get a lot more loot overall than when he stopped wanting to do these and I had to resort to pug groups. I was thinking the difference was the speed of completion and that they had something in there that gave you an increased chance at loot if they were finished faster.

I have 3 subscriptions JUST for the IE’s so i don’t have to pug them…but i canceled 2 of them this morning. I’m just not having much fun in BfA, not enough to justify 3 subs but the real kicker was when i found out the loot tables are now 100% rng, regardless if you kill a pirate or not. Now the main goal to getting loot is winning. if there are pirates on the island, they are added to the loot table regardless if you kill a single one or not so i guess, there is now no reason to multibox. Multiboxing gave me complete control of the run…was it to level toons, win, or get loot…all those needed to be taken into consideration when pugging…now it has just one goal and thats to win…the loot is ALL RNG now. so in blizzards attempt to address the issues with IE loot drops, they lost two subs…i’m sure i’m not the only one that had that strategy.

Nah, it is not really a race anymore. Before 8.1 I had sprint to the rares as they were the main source of points/items. After the changes I can now take my time looting azerite and killing rares, azerite distribution is quite uniform and the opposite team of NPCs does lose azerite if they die (back then they did not).

I run enough IEs to get the weekly reward. Prior to 8.1 I had 200 Doubloons. Since 8.1 I’ve got a total of 6. Their “fix” for IE rewards has clearly made things even worse.

It really amazes me they can put the effort into something like IE and then make it so unappealling. Unless they plan to leave IEs in here so we can come back next ExPac and solo queue, I really don’t see how they can consider this good design. Sure, run a few and you might get lucky and get something, is that all they intended?

i noticed resently that the number of doubloons also dropped i have not gotten more then 8 since the patch. when if i got lucky i would see 26 i think was my highest bag,
yet now the rewards are messed up they seem to have lowered the amount of doubloons dropping.
