To go up from r7 to 13 in 4 weeks would mean you would of had to been in the top bracket every single week effectively slowing down the progress of everyone else trying to from r13 to 14 during that same time period.
500k cap is great especially for wsg and ab weekends. And even av weekend considering on mankrik during classic people were pushing 900k on av weekends.
Whitemane alliance, something you could see while replying me lol.
I did sit in bracket 12 playing 4-5 hours a day basically spamming bgs.
You dont get better rewards for breaking brackets either, i dont know why people believe playing 14 hours a day every day to go from 7 to 9 70% will benefit them than instead playing 5 hours to go from 7 to 9 60% lol. There was a dude in bracket 13 playing 9 hours a day which was rank 2 some weeks ago, he went to 6 and complained and got burned out after doing the same thing to go from 6 to 9.
Both times he exploded the softcap insanely just because he never understood RP gain.
Rn there is a drama at alliance side because one dude firmly believes only one person can be gm every week, its quite funny too.
Anyway, Just use the calculator and set it to SoM/era we way past the 1.12 method.
Starting at r7 in spot 1000 out of 1560 shows being put in bracket 12 and going down from rank 7 to 6.5 with RP decay.
Current rank: 7 (25000 RP)
RP for next rank: 15000, RP to not decay: 10000
With standing 1000 of 1560 players, you will be in bracket: 12
Gaining between 2000 and 4000 RP, estimating RP gain of 2862.7 and RP delta of -2500
Reaching between r6.5 and r6.5, estimating rank 6.5 (22500 RP)
Current rank: 7.7 (28500 RP)
RP for next rank: 12900, RP to not decay: 11400
With standing 40 of 3000 players, you will be in bracket: 3
Gaining between 20000 and 22000 RP, estimating RP gain of 21166.7 and RP delta of 9766.7
Reaching between r9.42 and r9.82, estimating rank 9.6533 (38266.6667 RP)
Brackets:
Top 9 standings (9 slots) are bracket 1 (r14 cutoff), gaining 24000 - 26000 RP
Standings 10-24 (15 slots) are bracket 2 (r13 cutoff), gaining 22000 - 24000 RP
Standings 25-60 (36 slots) are bracket 3 (r12 cutoff), gaining 20000 - 22000 RP
Standings 61-105 (45 slots) are bracket 4 (r11 cutoff), gaining 18000 - 20000 RP
Standings 106-180 (75 slots) are bracket 5 (r10 cutoff), gaining 16000 - 18000 RP
Standings 181-300 (120 slots) are bracket 6 (r9 cutoff), gaining 14000 - 16000 RP
Standings 301-477 (177 slots) are bracket 7 (r8 cutoff), gaining 12000 - 14000 RP
Standings 478-684 (207 slots) are bracket 8 (r7 cutoff), gaining 10000 - 12000 RP
My standing improved when i got r10 gear and was accepted in premades. And playerpool kept increasing.
it doesnt require any soul crushing investment to get into rank 12 tbh, but r13 and r14 ya you gonna extrapolate the hours played and remove sleep time, something i would be able to if my work break wasnt over.
Last wsg week we had 4k+ players in the alliance pool, so it got even easier to rank.
I must just be haunted by my ranking experience in Classic lol.
Played on Kromcrush and I didn’t start ranking until the later phases and our top brackets where well above 1 million honor and I capped at rank 11 when I barely made progress after 2 weeks.
I actually had someone whisper me from Kromcrush back in March 2020 because at the time they were doing FFA ranking with massive caps. We chatted about how Earthfury horde ranking was run like a machine and he transferred to Earthfury over it. He was still thanking me a year later for “recruiting him to Earthfury”. He was super active in Discord and had a great attitude so was great for the server.
Yeah, SoM ranking made it not so bad to get from 7 to 13. SoM had problems for sure one being that once you got to like 12 there was a bottleneck from others being at the same place and it was hard to get past that. No clue about Whitemane Era with that.
I consider myself casual but I also consider myself a good player at games in general. Let’s be honest and frank, either botting or collusion has been the biggest factor to ranking in Era, but for some reason if those people make it to 14 it’s not a bad/retail attitude?
Okay.
Attainable goals is a great add and those goals should not come at the risk of ones health or an impenetrable wall managed by select few.
I think if the cap goes too low people could understandably be concerned about things like reduced dungeon and raid participation. Although Era is in a spot where the rank gear isn’t all that great compared to the Naxx stuff. For the next season or fresh, it would matter more.
I think that’s the important thing to remember is that GM/HW gear doesn’t suddenly mean they acquire the absolute best gear possible and they aren’t going to raid as a result.
Certainly is nice to have and it’ll be nice to acquire at a more leisure pace to have a decent reward for equitable time put in.
