Suramar and the Nightborne are now under their banner, surely the Horde adventurers would lend a helping hand to Runas at this point?

Doubt it, idk much about lore but once they reach the Zombie like state, theres no longer saving them i believe.
Plus who knows where he is right now, if anything he might be already dead.

Runas is one of those kinds of characters I wouldn’t mind seeing make a return from what we presumed was death, even if there wasn’t an explanation. He was fun to have around.

There was no quest to even try to bring him back. I found that rather frustrating tbh.

I don’t think Runas will ever be back. His story serves to drive home the terror of being lost to the mindlessness of their addiction. if he does return, I hope that it will be in a cured state, because “hahah, the addict says funny things” is a pretty poor approach.

Runas is lost. The nightborne that were saved were the ones in danger of withering which is the whole basis of Suramar. It’s why those exiled from Suramar city treated it like a death sentence because they can no longer get arcane rations.
Runas redeemed himself and then devolved into the withered.

I kinda hope runas died before the nightborne could get ahold of them.
thalyssra doesn’t exactly treat the withered very well, she was using them as living weapons and test subjects during the suramar rebellion.
Tbh, you have to take in mind that whoever they were was gone, they are just mindless zombies at that point.

EDIT: also, between the night elves returning the worgen to their sanity, and the nightborne themselves curing their addicition, I find it hard to believe the withered couldn’t be saved.
The whole point of Runas was to show the desperation of slowly starving into madness. His death is memorable because in his last moments he chose to be selfless and help others despite his terrible hunger.
Bringing him back would make his sacrifice pointless and, even worse, without the hunger and the desperation, he wouldn’t be the same person anymore.

Well is just a concept explored in many Zombie type stories, heres a quote about it. (had to censor a bit due to forum sensitive police)

Runas says: I thought our kin from Suramar City would make obvious allies. But their arrogance and mistrust soon proved otherwise.

Nope, he was just wandering around in a mana pool by the Blue Dragon. Maybe those blues are taking care of him specially, but I always hope iwth Suramar back, and the tree of life grown, they can do something for him.
I liked Runas and was so sad when he turned. Honestly, all of my characters would have mercy killed him after he turned, that is no life to live.
