Did the Hippogryph soulshape break the Azsuna hippogryph mounts?

After the Hippogryph soulshape was added to the game I noticed that the running animation, and models for many of the Hippogryph mounts was changed, and it broke all of the Azsuna Hippogryphs, especially the Cloudwing.

In the images from the links below, you can see that the seating position has been moved up so far on the Cloudwing that the harness of the mount actually cuts into the player’s chest. This likely has something to do with the Hippogryph soulshape using the actual Cloudwing model.

Also, the Cloudwing mount active’s (spacebar command) became bugged after patch 9.1, and no longer produces any audio when used.

Another visual bug patch 9.1 introduced has shifted the orb placed below the front of the harness to the side, and upward, where previously it hung in the circular opening.

This has been present since the beginning of 9.1, and still hasn’t seen any solution. Additionally nothing was even mentioned about the update to the Hippogryph run animations, it was just sort of stealthily added. In addition many other mounts have had their running animations changed.

That looks… painful. Thanks for finding it. Be sure to report it as bug.

Yeah, thankfully it doesn’t clip into the chests of female Blood elves, but I imagine anyone else who farmed for these mounts will be pretty disappointed to see them bugged for so long.

Yes you’ve caught onto something rather sinister. Hope they fix this up!

Reminder that this is still a problem.

Whatever happened, Blizz needs to revert the change. The mammoth runs the same way.

My white ram now bobs up and down like an out of control hobby horse.

It should also be noted the animations for mounts used at the Argent Tournaments both inside and outside now freeze on a regular basis.

I think some models share running animations with models that have been recently added into Soulshapes. So blizzard secretly “updated” their run animations for the Soulshape, which also changed the running animation for the mounts using the same model. The hippogryph run animation also bobs out of control.

Unfortunately this new running animation looks very unnatural when mounted by a player, as the character is bouncing all over the place like they’re on a bull ride.

Are your referring to that ?

They did change the animations at some point yeah.

The most hilarious part is that you can clearly see the orb on the cloudwing model moved in the video comparing the new and old run animations.

Yep. And ruined most of them. My beautiful, smooth gated talbuk now runs like a damn wolf and I clip through it.

I just checked this in-game and…yea. The mount is borked atm. No sound from its /mountspecial and the orb from the saddle is now floating half in your chest. It appears the player model is mounted too far forward basically. The running animation is fine though. They simply changed it to a new one. I actually prefer it to the old one. Interestingly enough, the Leyfeather Hippogryph which is basically a recolour of the same mount does not have the same seat positional issues.

Looks to be the same sound bug the Corrupted Dreadwing had. They did fix it after a while but the sound file is delayed such that the “caw” happens too late in its animation.

Edit: Confirmed by checking between the Leyfeather and the Cloudfeather. Basically the entire issue is that the player model is mounted too far forward on the Cloudfeather as compared to the Leyfeather.
