I feel like instead of playing bands they should have just payed people to do the extra customization they effectively cut from the expansion… smh
certainly felt like it. what we got was:
- a hearthstone announcement (which, at this point we ALWAYS get)
- a d4 thing telling us rogues are in d4, diablo immortal crap, and d2 reforged were coming.
- blizzard arcade thing, with the OLD old games.
- an overwatch thing? i did’nt check that one…
- a wow-cinematic with a tiny announcement about a new maw-zone, also flight coming back.
- bc-classic being announced,
- about a million art things, and a carbot animation.
the list looks big, but does’nt feel big imo. like… where’s the ‘OH MY GOD!!’ stuff?
Some people have some really short memories. WC3 Reforged was barely a year ago.
I was really hoping to see new customization options they’re working on and we all know how that turned out.
I knew this would not be as big and grand as blizzcon. But I did expect things to be focused on games and not 20 minute rants about the state of the real world.
I dunno. I liked the new cinematic. I’m excited for the new content but the Q&A was weak and gave more bad news than good news imo. Classic does not interest me at all either but yay for those excited about that.
The cinematics (all of them) seemed to have had their budgets slashed. We used to see cinematics that looked like feature films; these ones looked more like a reasonably decent fan-made machinima effort using game assets.
The Cash shop is the last / only thing that works in the game.
IDK, I enjoyed it…especially given that the price of admission was, uh, free.
With the situation they were put in and it being a free stream, and having the leak happen, sure they are behind on some stuff and didn’t have much in terms of reveal but honestly…
I’m not surprised. Anyone following the last few blizzcons can see a trend where it goes from ‘‘okay…’’ then the 1st year passes of an expansion for the next blizzcon and they have much more to offer in terms of reveals.
Don’t forget also that there was a year or so that they had no development happening and other projects were rebooted so that paired with the pandemic, I think kudos to them for putting some form of entertainment, cringe or not for people.
you know SL is in a bad place when it has to share time with TBC, they seem like they gave up on it just like WoD and BFA…just saying
Remember it is 3 months later than usual. It should have been more than enough time to get something right. I think they just took a long holiday break, as in Thanksgiving week until around mid January. Then slapped something together.
Probably woke up from his nap on his yacht off St. Barts. yo, ion, you’re on in 10 minutes. You’re LFR Denathrius was two days ago, man. Drink some coffee. We got easy questions for you, we promise.
It’s like that pretty much every other year. There’s very little reason for Blizz to have Blizzcon in regards to revealing news just cause Blizz has always been so slow.
They keep it going for the community that enjoys getting together to socialize. This year, in particular, was just a nod to that community that Blizzcon isn’t gone.

Over a decade ago.
Because people still buy their products. And to be honest while the Q&A sucked, it seems to have cleared up some stuff for those who aren’t looking through every wowhead article.
Well, I don’t disagree at all. That said, hair color, hair styles… if this is the thing that makes races using the same model/race distinct from one another, then Blizzard failed to make the races distinct from one another. I don’t think I can really put it any better than that.
Likewise when it comes to Allied Races and Core Races sharing hair colors/styles, I don’t think it’s as big an issue. Mechagnome or Gnome, the hairstyle is still, ‘Gnomish.’ Orc or Mag’har Orc, the hairstyle is still, ‘Orcish.’
kind of yeah.
the only thing that grabbed my attention in a positive way is the d2 remaster, looks neat.
More like Twitched off.
Why are people acting so dastardly here? We all know that our real enemy is the dastardly denizens found within the Maw and the new dastardly megadungeon, home to the dastardly brokers of the dastardly cartel.
Geez.
I’ll call those content when they actually drop, which are likely to be later than any .1 in the history of the game.
That’s too bad. I love watching Blizzcon highlights every year but this was not a good look.
