So lets get real… Who, in WOW, did nothing wrong? Which anti hero/hero has been vilified for no reason?
I say Sylvanas. Shes a great leader and who cares if she has a tree allergy. I know I dont.

Yrel. Purging orcs is never wrong.
I would like to say I did nothing wrong but once… I burned a batch of cookies beyond edibility because I was distracted. (hangs head in shame)
Also, given the current level of rewriting history I’m sure no one has ever done anything wrong and soon they will announce Deathwing will be reborn as hero being ridden by Gamon to save us from something bad.

garrosh. he only did what he thought was right. everything he did, he did for the horde. ain’t nothin wrong with that.
Nomi.
You gotta burn a few million eggs.
Kael’Thas.
In time of desperation, and need, he never stopped thinking of our people.
Warcraft Kael’Thas was amazing, Blizzard just needed a villain. Then brought him back using the old Demon Magic and the “I was actually using Illidan” excuse.
Oh well…
Vaelastrasz, in vanilla my heart broke seeing what happened to him after doing his quest chain and getting the key to UBRS.
" Too late, friends! Nefarius’ corruption has taken hold…I cannot…control myself.
I beg you, mortals - FLEE! Flee before I lose all sense of control! The black fire rages within my heart! I MUST- release it!
FLAME! DEATH! DESTRUCTION! Cower, mortals before the wrath of Lord…NO - I MUST fight this! Alexstrasza help me, I MUST fight it!"
“Forgive me friend! Your death only adds to my failure!”
You monster!
Arthas, he was only trying to raise an army so he could defend our world against the Legion threat! He even created a solid General when he raised Sylvanas, too bad she didn’t appreciate the gift she was given.
No way man. He burned entire town down full of innocent people.
Varian. The playerbase gave him nothing but crap from wotlk-mop. People thought he was a hot-headed warmonger and racist for his hatred of the horde.
People ignored that he had a whole laundry list of legitimate reasons for hating the horde and never said or did anything that wasn’t thorougly justified.
Chronicles has basically said that if he hadn’t, the plague would have spiraled out of control. It was at least contained to the plaguelands instead of sweeping over Azeroth.
To stop a plague from spreading and turning them all into mindless undead. He was sparing them from that horrible death and their future victims. And to be clear, I am playing off the OP’s comments about Sylvanas.
Yes i understand why he did it, but im saying he could of saved the innocent that were not plagued yet. Like his fellow alliance wanted him not to.
Wilfred Fizzlebang, Master Summoner did nothing wrong. He was simply trying to give us a worthy challenge and the demon he summoned was too powerful. Garrosh jumped to conclusions and started the conflict with Varian.
true burning thousands of innocents and children alive and sending them to hell is doing nothing wrong, and not only that, but she also lost you the war after that.
If they had found out about it weeks prior, probably. When they were finally able to intervene, the outbreak was imminent and there was no guarantee or knowledge of how to screen victims of the plague before it took effect.
Garrosh did nothing wrong. He never wanted to be the warchief because he hated his father for who he was.
But Thrall lied to him saying that he was not that bad, making him like his father.
Also, Thrall put Garrosh as warchief against his will.
What he did as warchief was inspired by the true/original Horde, inspired by his father (that he used to hate but Thrall make his mind).
He never wanted to kill Cairne, but his weapon was poisoned without his knowledge.
All he wanted was power to protect his people, the Horde. He gave everything to get it. That’s why he went for the power of an old god.
Every single life he took was in a battle or war. He is not a murderer, because every attack he made was done in a conflict where both parts were prepared to battle and die.
Even after all of that, he went to a trial and judged not guilty by literally gods with thousands of years.
And then comes Thrall. He challenged Garrosh for Mak’Gora not to kill him and end it’s “murderous acts”. Thrall wanted to end it’s biggest failure in life. Thrall even broken the original rules of a Mak’Gora, by using magic at his favor (yes, I know that the rules can change but it is an agreement on both parts. If no rule is set, then the original rules must be followed).

Stratholme had to burn. Those that weren’t infected were either going to be slain and turned by the undead, or slain by demons for their souls to be burned in fel fire.
Being slain by light and steel is a kindness compared to that.
