I’m doing the Stormheim questline and i found this rare Humanoid NPC called Mordvigbjorn and started to question if Kultirans and the Drust got their druidism from the Vrykul or developed it separately
Drust are basically just a sect of Vrykul who broke off and eventually developed Druidic techniques. We do not have any examples of Vrykul druids outside the drust, thus far.
We’re not seeing any evidence that the Vrykul themselves had Druids. They have plenty of rune magic, but that’s a different kettle.
The Vrykul and Drust druids have different sources.
Vydhar says: It was with the aid of the tauren that my flesh was made wood, my skin made into leaves, and my wisdom made eternal. I shall always remember this, even if my own people do not.
There was interaction with the Tauren for the example you encountered. But for me, the more interesting question is whether Tauren and Night Elves got their druidism from the same source as Drust. Was the strange dimensional darkness zone called Thros in the shadowlands or since Ardenweald treated it like an affront and violation of shadowlands… was Thros perhaps a pocket realm created by somebody else interfering from yet another third party?
I thought the drust were a Vrykul group?
The Drust are Vrykul. They’re a group of Vrykul who left the north and settled in the south. I’m not sure if it’s been stated this was before or after the Great Sundering. At some point, before the reign of Gorak Tul, the Drust developed a form of druidism and became the Thornspeakers. The Thornspeakers abhorred Gorak Tul’s sorcery and sided with the Human settlers during their war with the Drust. When Gorak Tul and his followers were defeated, the Thornspeakers taught their way of druidism to the Humans who would become Kul Tirans.
It’s also speculated that the surviving Thornspeakers mingled with the Humans and that’s why Kul Tirans are so much larger than regular Humans.
It’s been implied by the quotes and statements that when the Thornspeakers broke from the Drust those same Drust would have descendants among the Kul Tirans who hear the call of the wilds and seek out the Thornspeakers. This is why a Kul Tiran is shoulder high to a Vrykul while an average human is near their stomachs.
You have a link to the quotes? Vrykul lore is my favorite in WOW, with Trolls being a close second. I’d like to read them.
Ulfar says, “We Thornspeakers joined Kul Tiran society. Some of their descendants heard the call of the wilds and wished to learn the ancient ways, and so we have taught them.”
There was another Druid who you meet North of Boralus who mentions that they hear the call of the wilds and are drawn to meet the Thornspeakers and that’s because they’re the descendants.

druidism is just paganism as long as you didnt fall for the dogmatic light meme you can hear the spirits
Couldn’t it be the other way around…? The Light is normal, and the spirits from cosmic Life are a dogma meme trying to get you to enact their dominance?
Moreover, apparently Elune encouraged the early Night Elves to do “both” Nature and Holy Light worship. Thus the temples and priesthood of Elune alongside the Druids.
