Just bought a desktop for $449 ($491 after tax). Needed a full tower PC so I could do upgrades later down the road when things are/get outdated. Was this worth it for the money? Kinda felt like Walmart employee did an incorrect pricing accidentally. It’s an ibuypower.
Yes, you did get a good deal. That PC will run WoW and many other games very well, and that price is really low.
Just curious, why do you plan to go up to 32GB of RAM? There really is no need for 32GB for a gaming PC. Better to save that money for future upgrades.
I’d also encourage you to check the thermals of your computer using HWInfo or HW Monitor because those “gaming PC” cases can have really bad airflow that causes thermal throttling of your components.
Yes, it seemed a really low price to me as well. I was totally preparing to drop 1k-1.3k on a PC this or next Friday (and I was studying and researching plenty online).
I suppose the 32GB is to just slowly max out what I can. You are probably right though, the extra RAM is unnecessary.
Right, I bought it as soon as I saw it because of the price. I still want liquid cooled more than anything. I didn’t care about seeing internals or the flashy RGB effects. So I may look into another case if thermals become a problem. Entire system is very quiet; but the glass felt pretty warm earlier in the day. Thanks for letting me know which program to use to monitor thermals! I will watch some youtube videos on HWInfo or HW Monitor to better understand the programs. Thanks Griefs!
