I was wondering if the rumors of the drop rate being nerf was true? It kinda feel like it was since ive been mining more than 100 thorium from rich veins with no arcane crystal and i heard alot of other people say the samething and feel the same way.

I think a lot of it has to do with rich thorium veins being bugged in general. Just get fewer crystals when they often only have two taps.
It feels so much worse than it was in vanilla.

I got back to back arcane crystals yesterday from one node…after mining 113 thorium ore prior to that…

I spend about 90 minutes - 2 hours running around winterspring a day, hoping to find some arcane crystals. despite having mined close to 600 thorium (from tons of small veins w/ one tap, and plenty of rich w/ two), I’ve obtained a total of 3 arcane crystals.
I didn’t want to whine about it to anyone, bc I dunno what it was like back on retail, but I’m glad to see I’m not the only one having a bad time w/ it.
Doesn’t help that the thorium isn’t worth much on my server either :L feels like I’m wasting time.
I’ve gotten 2 off of 5 total rich Thorium nodes. I think this is just a case of RNG being RNG
RNG this isn’t retail not everything is a loot piñata.
I haven’t had much luck either unfortunately. Trying to farm up crystals for TF, I think I’ve mined 20-25 rich with no crystal yet.
It’s going to be a longggg grind.

blame the fact that most rich thoriums give like 3 taps and you have the real reason

I can run around WS for 2 hours and find nothing at times.

I think its cause the veins are bugged, rich veins only being 2-3 hits instead of 3-4 makes a pretty big difference over time, more hits = more chances to win!

Arcane crystals were a main source of income for me during vanilla. I had an addon to show me the best routes per area. I can remember being lucky to get one crystal an hour. Of course sometimes you’d get two back to back. But mostly it was painful. Those little bad boys sold for like 20g+ though so it was worth it. If you can get one a night you should be pretty happy about that.
Me thinks when layers are dropped off my server that arcane crystals will sky rocket in price along with arcanite bars. Good time for me to save them, but obtaining them has gotten more difficult as of late.
