I’m just excited for 9.0 when they strip flying again and all of our mount equipment will no longer work post level 120. The new versions of the mount equipment will more than likely release in 9.1

In simple words: They removed the Water Strider Water Walking ability and replaced it with another gold sink.

Im still too lazy to do it. My tailor maxed out and my black smith coming along. I just not liking the last one. So many animals must die. Seem a crime against nature. No i will not kill dears or elks.
I honestly didn’t understand the point of mount equipment. I was perfectly happy to use my bug to walk on water when I was in the need of such abilities.
I am not even sure what the other pieces of equipment do.

No daze is god-tier if you’re not a tank and you’re doing no-flying content (such as Island Expeditions). Will also be amazing in 9.0 when we lose flight for the millionth time.
Idk, I’m never really waterwalking in zones I can’t just fly all that often, and when I can’t fly, I get dazed a lot more than being impeded by water.
50 gold once per char is hardly a gold sink.

Ehh, i wouldn’t be surprised if they just stopped. If their not going to do it good the first time around, i rather they don’t do it at all, but i guess people love having… another talent row on your character that makes mounts behave instead of individually socketing each mount, allowing more customization.
Either way, can’t wait for the “upgrade” and see how much Blizzard screws up a good idea yet again.
I have a feeling if we all ask for an FOV slider, they will only limit it 55 to 65 degrees and say “Now you can play the game in any FOV!” and have 45 to 90 be the “3.0 upgrade”.

Yes, in that they removed the water strider as a must have mount and maybe a no in that water walking is probably still prolific. They’ll get a better picture of whats being used or not when a new expansion lands and flying is taken away.
That’s my fear, as well, since mount equipment is a crafted item. Since the introduction of things like barding and stirrups, the utility of those consumables has been locked to specific zones. I worry that the crafted mount equipment will only work in BfA and earlier zones, or only work up to level 120, or some other “gotcha” will be added when 9.0 drops.
My other concern is that they’ll use mount equipment as an excuse to remove those consumable buffs like barding and stirrups, which means no more water walking mount equipment plus barding, or barding plus stirrups for farming.

Just chiming in to say I’m glad I’m no longer bound to using the ugly bug.
I put the no daze one on my main and then forgot the system even existed. It wasn’t very well implemented IMO.
How about… just remove daze from the game? 
Also add an item to the game through a quest you can get at whatever level you can use the mount equipment and you can just water walk while mounted if it’s in your bag? Just a fun quest you can do on each toon that starts at the mount trainer in major cities.
As long as I don’t have to ride that bloody ugly water strider I’m happy!
Well, something had to be done. It wasn’t right that some players were able to have water walking and the rest of us couldn’t have it. I, along with many other players, enjoy and appreciate the fact that Blizzard has been taking steps to level the playing field.
- You still had to unlock water walking equipment the same way you unlocked Water Strider in the first place…
- Nothing is preventing the “rest of us” from getting it, other than laziness.
Mount equipment was a way to assassinate the Water Strider and thank god they did.
Now we’re all flying and moved on. Quit kicking a dead horse.

they should revert mount equipment and waterstrider. just make a new waterstrider each expac people can work for.
