Did anyone else play Wildstar/Rift?

I call it “the Pyromancer syndrome.”

well, i used to play wildstar on occasion… gameplay-wise, felt like WoW fully-realized. except, y’know… no content so… that was’nt so good. but! i liked the space-theme.

Rift was a fun game for a while. When it went f2p that was basically the end for me.

I liked wildstar the graphic were cute, funny races and classes. But yeah they have few gap in term of gameplay that’s for sure

You can’t kill wow, wow lives because its players grew up with the game, it’s home. The only way IN MY OPINION to replicate that is to do the same thing, get kids hooked on the game and grow the game with the kids. Fortnite could do this and LoL as they are attempting to do now, Final Fantasy has done it because FF existed for years prior to the MMO.
If you want to be Wow get kids addicted :+1: Don’t try to jump in and get the crusty old MMO players.

Yes and yes
More rift than wildstar

I loved the housing in wildstar

LOL nope, not true at all. Blizzard will not do housing correctly ever. FFXIV and ESO do it right cause they see it longterm, blizz only does things for 1 expac and move on.

Nah I’m good, I’m gonna keep asking for it. Appreciate the suggestion.

Wildstar was an amazing game that failed because it launched far to early. Literally had the best housing system in an mmorpg to date and the combat was fluid and very enjoyable. All it needed was more time to polish and less emphasis on the hardcore raiding aspects and it would of done better.

The fact that Blizz dropped a major content patch when it launched didn’t help much either.

The only people that use the term “wow killer” are edged out wow players. Rift is probably the only one out of all those mmorpgs that had aspirations of “killing” wow.

I’m pretty sure they feel housing would be a waste of time, and knowing how some people are I could see them whining and crying that time is “wasted” on player housing

I could totally go with the Unreal tournament voices for kills in PvP.

First Blood! Mega Kill! Headshot!

Played both, wildstar was ok while it lasted,I really enjoyed Rift

I’m pretty sure rift had that in its PVP battlegrounds

Tried the Rift free trial a few weeks after launch. I subbed after I realized I had
played for 12 hours with very little breaks. I cant play that long on any game
back then, or even now. So I was having a blast on Rift. Have not played in
years. But I might go back to it one day.

The one thing I can say i did not like about Rift. Was when you are alone
in a lower level zone. Then some mobs spawn and take over the quest
hub that you need to turn in your quests at. Theres no way you are going
to clear them out alone. But there is no one else in the zone.

Loved wildstar and its home system, I wish its story was better relayed.

Loved mechari.

Problem is they don’t plan for any systems long term, its 1 expansion and they abandon it. Housing is a game-life-long commitment and blizz does not have a set up for it, furthermore they copy paste the same houses everywhere like elwynn for example.

Happened to me several times. In that case you had to do quest elsewhere and wait some hours, when the zone would reset to normal.
I like some “hardcore” feature like this, as log as it does not go overboard.

I believe at some point they added a stacking debuff to those mobs that made them take like huge extra damage, so you could easily kill them after a while, precisely because that would happen.

Alright, it’s your carpal tunnel and all… Maybe in another expansion or two, when they go F2P/P2W, they’ll add it in with tons of microtransactions.
