Did anyone else notice how Blizzard just took Night Elves from the Alliance and gave them to the Horde?

Basically.
The Alliance Night Elves lost their capital city and they are never going to get a new one, they lost their starter zone and another zone (Ashenvale) in BfA.
Meanwhile the Horde got the Night Elf model with Nightborne and they even have a beautiful high quality city in Suramar, while the Night Elves on the Alliance have nothing anymore.

I just wonder why Blizzard decided to do this? Why not instead let every race be every faction?

So Surumar is now a horde only city?

The Suramar we can visit in-game takes place in the past.

So basically nothing in terms of actual gameplay has changed?

So all the NPCs are friendly to horde characters and hostile to alliance characters when I go to Surumar now?

No because it’s stuck in early legion phase and the Nightborne haven’t betrayed the Alliance at that point yet.

Given that Darkshore has been reclaimed, and the Horde is backing off, it is reasonable to assume that Night Elf territory in Ashenvale has been recovered.

Well we dont have any proof for ashenvale though, not even a hint.

I know its just a vocal minority, but am I the only one that thinks alliance players are greedy and always want more than what’s already been given to them?

Eh just found it weird that they had to destroy alliance night elves like that for seemingly no reason and then ignore them after.

I think the WoW Devs have basically “Dothrakied” the Night Elves back into existence after basically killing them all off… so they aren’t really gone.

“Yes, we know their entire race got genocided, their home completely destroyed… the closest thing to a second home was never rebuilt from Cata anyway… but we realize we wrote ourselves into a corner here, so despite all that happening, only a few died and they’re still super relevant and everywhere!”

I mean, we technically lost Ashenvale.

The Horde destroyed the only Night Elf cities in the zone during the pre-patch event.

We took Darkshore back in the Warfront, and I suspect the Horde will give Ashenvale back now that Sylvanas is gone, but we did lose it temporarily.

From what I can find, Astrannar is still standing and the Alliance controls it again. Granted Ashenvale became heavily contested territory, but lore-wise it seems to be Alliance dominated again.

We did in fact lose Ashenvale in the bfa pre patch.

We took back all the ground we lost in the pre-patch and then some thanks to the Horde not having a stronghold in Lordaeron anymore.

I’d prefer to think of it as the majority of Night Elves weren’t living in Teldrassil considering it was at most about 10 years old.

There’s no way they would all randomly just decide to flock there.

The ending of BfA has been all about reconciliation between the two factions. It is reasonable to assume that night elf territory has been restored - if not, it will certainly be retaken.

If you specifically wait for Blizzard to state that something happens, you’ll either be in limbo for years, or end up like the worgen who are still waiting for a cata plot point to be resolved.

Well but apparently the Night Elves didn’t retake it in BfA,and now there’s peace and the Horde wouldn’t give it back either since they want to have the Night Elves annihilated to badly.
