Did anyone actually win today?

Reading all this stuff in the various threads, it feels like Bliz basically tried shooting the moon with the story and somehow missed.

Honor Horde loses Saurfang and also now has to deal with Anduin’s hands being all over their story now (giving him a sword that may well be cursed at this point; speaking at his funeral; etc).
Baine apparently has resumed his time-honored role of doing nothing of value or consequence.
Forsaken lose Sylvanas to… something? Thought Mak’gora was supposed to settle things - not have the leader fly away just because.
Zandalari never really won anything, and probably won’t get any further content at this point.
Nelfs apparently did nothing and Tyrande’s getting lined up to be a boss I guess (because vengeance is evil or something).
Not really sure if Anduin actually won or achieved anything today (and does him accomplishing anything count for humans and other Alliance anyway?).
Oh, and the Horde apparently has no leader for another half patch or something. Maybe we’ll get one in Blizcon.

Finally, the players didn’t get any loot or swag for all of their trouble in putting up with this quest chain. Garrosh at least gave us a flying mount for watching him go off the deep end.

I’m struggling to see what was accomplished here other than Bliz claiming they were correct that this wasn’t MoP 2.0 on the technicality that the final raid wasn’t in Org - they just reduced it down to a scenario and cut out the warchief replacement part.

So, did anyone actually come out ahead from all of this?

I’m more confused than anything, but I’ll accept it out of pure “coulda been worse.”

Saurfang won. He’s done being written.

Team End Times came out of this stronger than ever.

Souls for the hungering darkness!

Honestly, that’s about where I’m at as well. At least maybe we can start salvaging a story out of this?

i mean its not the ending really just the ending to a story point, 8.3 is coming soon

We could get a fresh start by having a giant sword from space stab the world and devote an expansion to saving the world from this wound.

I’m just largely relieved that there won’t be anymore faction war stories.

Hopefully.

I’m praying.

Please God.

it feels like absolutely nothing happened for the Alliance, and the Horde has simply played musical warchiefs once again.

What a waste of a patch just because they wanted to see Brad Pitt comfort his green daddy one last time.

Yeah that could be interesting, and maybe we cou- OH MY GOD THE WORLD IS STILL BLEEDING TO DEATH.

Idk… AU She-Thrall (literally not gonna waste time looking up her name) is pretty warmongering. There’s a vacant Warchief position ripe for the taking.

All parties there were shafted hard. Alliance stood there and did absolutely nothing. Saurfang bit the dust and Sylvanas just threw away her Horde when she went full mustachio and flew away like a cartoon villain.

Sylvanas is the winningest right now.

Her plans are going mostly accordingly.

She killed Saurfang.

She’s not shackled to the Horde anymore.

Anduin came in second place, though. Horde-Alliance bros without further bloodshed.

Night Elves losing big time.

It was a new record though. Saurfang was Warchief for all of, what… 5 hours?

That’s more a win for the players

Also, Droite scores pretty big on predicting Sylvanas just peacing out.

Blizzard won. People are still paying for a subscription.

Well, Saurfang got what he wanted. He deposed Sylvanas (well, I guess she kinda deposed herself…) and even got the death he’d been craving since forever.

We all win because this expansion is finally over.
