Diabolist Destro in PVP

I hear bad things.

Anyone playing this? What’s the secret to making it work (mainly blitz)

There’s a lot more casting involved with diabolist compared to hellcaller and the pit lord AI is very stupid to the point that he sits there doing nothing or gets ranged/los”d. More often times then not the pit lord gets wasted when he finally pops out and just sits there doing nothing. The chaos wave spell that you get when he pops also is very long easy to interrupt and the aoe damage gets negated if your target dies or uses kind of immunity.

The secret is to swap out of diabolist, coz it’s not good in pvp.

If you insist on playing destro then hellcaller is miles better simply due to the mobility playstyle. Blitz is largely about being mobile and having to turret is a recipe for failure.

Edit: also chaos bolts arent strong enough in pvp to enable the traditional destro playstyle and rancorra’s buff to bolts is significantly nerfed in pvp, it barely increases bolt damage by like 20% or something. It’s just not threatening enough.

Sad news. I find the diabolist tree to feel more like destro should.

Hellcaller feels more like affliction to me.

It’s good in BGs when you can just cast and be left alone.
I’ve hit huge Chaos bolts and I’m not even full gear. I don’t play lock in arena so I can’t speak to that but I think if you’re not getting locked down by melee it can be good. In blitz I will go diabolist when the enemy has mostly casters

If u want to push and feel relevant Hellcaler it is.

The point is that you can still do some damage even without casting.

Wither with its passive effects does a lot of damage. Yes it is weird to have DoT as your main damage source as Destro but it makes it easier to play especially vs melee teams and it does more damage than Diabolist.

True, but Hellcaller is instant and with no flashy demons saying HEY THE WARLOCK IS HERE DOING THAT THING !
