I remember hearing like maybe 3 years ago now that Diablo Netflix series was in the works. Is that still being produced or was it scrapped? Think it would be a cool show or maybe waiting to release near Diablo 4 release to build hype?

I am admittedly worried about the outcome but I love the idea.
I’d play a wait and see.
As it is with Netflix lately, the only reason I’m watching The Sandman when it comes out is because Neil has been on hand since they started making it.
If it was similar in quality to the Castlevania adaptation, I’d be all about it.

Have you ever heard the term “development hell” Sometimes it takes YEARS to get a program past all the stakeholders. Then they might change their mind and want to shop it to HBO max, or paramount. This is just to get towards the point where they start animating it or filming it. Then there’s months of editing, rerecording etc.
If a Diablo series is a real thing still, it may be stuck in development hell for the time being.
Hell, the wheel of time series took nearly 20 years to make it onto screen. To say that in the film and TV industry things move slowly is a vast understatement.
They did a really good job on the Witcher, so I imagine if they had some good writers they could make a decent diablo series.
Don’t know anything about overwatch so I have no opinion one way or the other.
Netflix was spending money like a drunk monkey, 17 billion last year, had little to show for it, lost customers, stock got destroyed, and then they cancelled a bunch of projects and fired a lot of people.
So I doubt it. These adaptations are incredibly costly and of late have been really hit or miss. Sure the Witcher turned out well enough, but Wheel of Time and Halo ended up unrecognizable, and angered their fan bases.

I hope they abandoned it, diablo universe is too dark for Netflix. They would get complains from parents and cancel it after 1 season. Netflix has a bad track record for this kind of thing.
Netflix has enough trouble of it’s own. Partnering with Blizzard on ANYTHING would be a catastrophic mistake at this point.
