let’s go Blizzard is back
Pretty sure they knew this was the only way to save the launch of a game no one was talking about.
I guess we don’t have phones if they’ve gotta launch it on PC.
I don’t even know what DI is about. I mean, outside of the world setting.
no one does. they killed their own game the day they made the phone comment lol. Showed a huge disconnect in knowing their player base and it was the moment we all seen it live.
I can’t imagine a mobile-first Diablo game is worth picking up on PC. I fully plan to skip it and wait for D4.
Apparently not everyone had phones.
I thought the Diablo announcement was later today…
This is excellent news! The only way I was going to touch it was if they released it on PC. I don’t have any other devices that can play it, and I don’t do mobile gaming. I can’t see well enough anymore even if I wanted to. heh
I HAVE had a chance to check out Diablo Immortal though. The announcement was one of the worst days ever. All the hope came crashing down with the statement it was phone only. Since then, they have done a lot of thinking and work.
A friend visited and brought his iPad which had an Alpha of the game on it. It is beautiful and honestly is more of an MMO hybrid than a straight ARPG. It did not look or play like a mobile game. It was a lot more. I, again, was sad it would not be on PC.
Now it is, an I am rather pleased. I will be checking it out. My first love, and what got me into Blizzard games, was Diablo 2. I am fond of the franchise.
They did…and it seems they listened and fixed it.
I just can’t get excited for a F2P game that’s sure to have predatory monetization practices, regardless of the platform.
Do you all not have phones?
Well that’s okay! Because now you can just use your PC instead!
So every game right now basically.
We shall have to see. Blizzards other free games are not too bad as far as monetary schemes go. I think they know the US and EU markets don’t really like that too much.
As long as I can do the same things in game as paid folks that is fine. I don’t mind it taking longer for example. I am a casual player anyway.
Cross play between platforms, cross progression between platforms, controller support for mobile and PC. So people can play on the commute to work, then play on PC at home later - AND play with friends on any platform at any time.
These are REALLY good things for any game Blizz might want to release.
They released the PC specs too, which are nice and low so people like me with an old laptop can still play.
They have system requirements out and a sign up for the PC Open Beta. PC Open Beta starts on June 2nd, which is the day it releases on mobile. All progress on Beta will be kept.

That’s a lot to ask of my phone.
That is for the PC version It is no longer a mobile only game. Which is good. I don’t have any mobile devices that play it.
Interesting to see iOS support, but no Mac OS support.
I wonder if Blizzard will allow it in the Mac OS store for M1 Macs (that can run iOS programs if the developers allow it)
I don’t think this is true though. Look at Lost Ark, or Genshin Impact.
I think there’s a very vocal section of the community that hates it, but no one can deny that these games make a lot of money. Companies don’t like to leave that money on the table.
Even in Blizzard’s sphere, the amount of gold buying that goes on is ridiculous. There’s a whole third party industry surrounding WoW and WoW classic centered in RMT.
I’m not saying that this will definitely be loaded with bad MTX/RMT, but I would be more surprised if it wasn’t.
You probably will be able to. The question is how much extra time you will have to invest in order to do it.
Can’t wait to play this! Also, I don’t know why players are acting like this game would have failed on mobile…mobile gaming is hugely popular and the numbers don’t lie but I think it’s a great idea that it’s cross play and cross progression on PC.
Oh dang, it’s coming to PC?
I heard really good things about this game, even for a mobile game. I’m excited and I’ll be playing it.
PC players have a hard time realizing that a mouse and keyboard isn’t the mass markets preferred choice. It would have done fine on mobile.
You sweet summer child. They have you right where they want you.
