The big purchases are completely optional. You can do a lot in this game for free, and some of the nickel and dime purchases are a good deal. I’m not going to buy a $25 cosmetic, but I might buy a pack of crests for $0.99.
I’m watching the Asmongold video on this and it’s almost as long as the Titanic movie.
Watching whaling is amazing fun.
That game is such hot garbage.
Amazed they released it.
Imagine being a programmer and not justifying your paycheck…
You need to remember that for some people a video game defines them and the idea they could just chill and play through a story for free is a completely foreign concept.
Every game for them they must be 100% min/maxed in every way as fast as possible and maintain for years while also free.
Diablo Immortal was always going to be an “out of season April fools joke”.
Maybe, maybe not
But its still free Diablo thats is not hindered if you dont pay. And so far, for a free (diablo) game, im having fun.
So is Nintendo. But they manage to still be pretty awesome. So far as I know anyway.
Spoilers to come, I’m sure.
I have about two dozen mobile games you should go over to each of their forums and post the same thing. I’m sure it’s going to do a lot.
If you think Diablo or Blizzard are the first to do this then I have some beachfront property in ohio to sell you. But I get it, it’s the norm to bash anything Blizzard does around here. Carry on.
I don’t think it’s a bad game. They do need to add grindable options for the legendary gems/aspirant keys though. The fact there is no way to come across some of the currency for player power is outrageous. Can i still play without it? Sure. Do I see people on the leaderboards already with gems not possible without spending cash? Absolutely. They should have two boards of anything. One who spent cash and those free of the taint.
diablo is my favorite IP of all time and im not touching that one.
i don’t understand how ppl dont see it’s not good to support that type of game heh.

Let’s be real… every company is dipping into this pool. It’s harder to find a company that isn’t investing in mobile games than is. Don’t worry about your respect, no one here cares for it or wants it.

As an fyi: their mobile games also have microtransactions.
Mobile games bring in a different crowd. It’s not meant for people like us.
So do you like the game or not. I just can’t tell
Microstransactions are pretty commonplace in gaming now… what D:I is doing is far, far removed from that, though.
The myriad psychological tactics it uses, with the “random loot box” mechs, is one of the very few times I’ve looked at something and think “Yeah… yeah… that’s something I’d be okay with harsh regulation for”.
