Diablo 4 reviewed bomb

Each Paragon pip is a full level’s worth of XP, and has all of the bells and whistles involved with gaining a new level except for the number shown on the character screen, so yes, yes I am.

They’re supposed to be making 50-100 easier in the next patch, but 1-50 still sucks as well and that’s not getting any help honestly.

There’s never a good reason to review bomb something. All review bombing does is hurt the credibility of the review site. It’s just something arrogant players seem to do thinking it might actually force changes they want.

This is why if I rarely ever go to metacritic or rotten tomatoes. If/when I do I generally only glance at the three-four star (Depending on the site) and that’s usually only for a general idea. For games, movies, and other forms of media I’ll get my own opinion of it by playing/watching it.

Is it really review bombing though? Game has a LOT of problems and really isn’t great right now.

Barb and sorc are nearly unplayable.
There’s next to no endgame.
Leveling is a slog (WT3 feels useless)
Last patch was a disaster that even WoW hasn’t seen
Wasting time on uniques that barely anyone would see (uber rares are great… in a game you can trade for them)
Itemization is bloated and yet boring.
And so much more

An indie game developed by less than 50 people has better gameplay and balance.

I haven’t looked, but it’s usually pretty easy to tell the difference between something intended to be a review bomb and someones actual opinion.

Review bombing usually involves a bunch of 0/10 and you can’t have me believe that nothing in the game deserves at least a few points. They did the same thing with last of us 2. Bunch of 0/10 because of the story, but the graphics and gameplay are as amazing as they were in the first one.

At least rottentomatoes separates the “verified” ratings of the people who prove they have seen the movie/show and the free-for-all score

Metacritic doesn’t offer that

Exactly. For a game to deserve a 0/10, it would have to be pretty much unplayable.

But looking at the D4 reviews…that’s what you get far to often. 23.5 of the 36 pages of negative user reviews on metacritic are all 0s. And some of them even say good things about the game.

Really hard to get a true rating no matter what honestly.

Like for D4 all the company reviewers rated it high because they played the campaign and stopped before the cracks showed (campaign was good).

But people do review bomb, the only way to find out if a game is good is to play it yourself.

If you defend bad game design, you’ll get a bad game. Keep defending it I guess.

I wouldn’t even bother reading 0/10 reviews. The same goes for 10/10 reviews, though. Both tend to be of the same quality.

From what I’ve seen across the Internet, it’s getting poorly reviewed because of bad decisions Blizzard has been making.

Blizzard is probably one of the last companies I believe “it’s a hate brigade” claims about. They did this with Overwatch, they did it with WoW, they killed SC2 and HOTS, and Hearthstone is too big to fail. Who’s to say they can’t jack up D4 as well?

An actually good game would not be affected negatively by an attempted review bombing.
