Diablo 4 is the END of wow PvP

Huge claim I know, but hear me out. First launch reviews were stunning, but the Interface issues, and lack of end game content made players leave in mass from boredom.

They Fixed the game, not only are most of the problems resolved, its a hella fun game atm, the new expansion releases in just a few days. Brings end game content, social community, guild improvements, Raids, PVP, economy, amazing graphics that blow wow out of the ballpark. The equipment you can buy from pvp is aaaamazing!!!

There is no clicks of High end players selling and monopolizing ratings rewards, there is no everyone pack up and move to vanilla wow because thats where the RMT money is lol. There is no 40 keybinds and relying on 3rd party addons covering your screen with clutter. No 20 years worth of BLOAT lol, just a good story, and good times, you do not need a college course in weak auras to play the game lol.

DONT worry Glads, wow will always be yours, there will be servers for you for decades. I mean people still love Guild wars 2, Command and Conquer remastered has some players lol.

You see Glads and Elites, you ran off your own player base, the people who fund this game, the people who watch and donate to your streams. The people who look up to you for showing them how to play better… Recently watched a streamer show on twitch, a Multi glad big famous player live, he had 40 viewers, that is your future. Maybe you will learn from it who knows.

Maybe Blizzard will revamp wow pvp one day???

Why reference D4 in the title then say nothing to support it?

Lol, pvp tourists that get dunked on and then give up because they aren’t up for the challenge(s) required to learn/improve aren’t the ones who fund this game, at least not in any meaningful %. People that primarily (if not only) do PvE are the ones funding this game.

The amount of people streaming wow pvp is incredibly small, and the amount of people watching wow pvp being streamed is also incredibly small. If both of these groups of people stopped playing the game and never played again, WoW would still be chillin as the most successful and most subscribed to mmorpg on the market.

Also, why are you donating to streamers? I get that some people want to support them, but is there nothing better that you could have spent your money on lol? Do people still use the word simp in 2024?

We aren’t all out there trying to make $$$ via Twitch ya know. I’m guessing this streamer offended you somehow after he dissed you after doing viewer games?

Anyway, you’re free to vent as we all are, and I’m all down for things such as reduced button bloat, no addons, etc., and/or even the next big game that stands to be a ā€˜WoW killer’, but I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this, Diablo 4 isn’t going to be the end of any aspect of WoW.

The two games aren’t even comparable, let alone the pvp in each game. Trying to put my bias aside in that I consider pretty much ALL top-down/isometric view games to be hot garbage (especially mobas), Diablo 4 from what I gather is just a casual and/or brainless version of a much better game, e.g., Path of Exile (PoE).

Oh btw, since we’re attacking wow pvp streamers in order to make our point, note that at the time of writing this, D4 has in total 776 viewers (no idea how many of those are even doing pvp content). The War Within currently has 25.5k viewers, and of those streaming pvp, I can pluck several out right now that alone have more than (or are fairly close to) 776 viewers [e.g., pika by almost 4x, Swfity at 600+, cdew will be rocking 1500-2500 easily when he gets on later, as will Venruki next time he is on, and at least a dozen more with between 100-300 viewers each].

Again, I can empathize with you in that WoW pvp is in many ways horrible, especially when it comes to the community and the learning curve/barrier to entry, but you’re being incredibly disingenuous to proclaim that D4 is going to be the end of wow PvP.

No offense, but this title is quite possibly the biggest omega lul I’ve seen in months, possibly even ranked higher than the guy telling me that frost mage is op because of his experience(s) against a frost mage in a leveling bg.

Oh no way, I get along w everyone mostly. I was watching a multi glad Demo Lock that just came back to wow on youtube. He said ā€œā€ he is working to get partnered so he can quit his job and play wow full time"". Maybe thats a dream to many players, but a game is much different when its a full of players who play like its their full time job.

WoW has a different vibe to it now days. They say if you dont like it unsub and go, I could not agree more. NEW season and already people complain about player participation and queue times. Ruki put out a new video today, similar comments.

If players did not care about wow they would not complain. We all want the game to grow, be successful and bring in new peeps. But its its current state, I think its time take a season vacation lol.

I know its a hoot right lol, its gonna be even funnier at this pace when rated pvp is tumbleweeds, and Diablo4 is poppin off lol.

I won’t continue to comment on D4 as I don’t care to look up player numbers and such outside of just checking twitch viewership, but yeah I agree with you that this season has started off really bad, especially compared to season 1 of dragonflight [e.g., you gotta be an awc pro or multi-r1 minimum to get duelist in anything outside of bgblitz, 3-5 specs are still grossly overpowered and Blizzard is taking their sweet time to do anything about it, if they do anything at all, same thing with there being at least a third of the specs being grossly underpowered and to the extent that even if they are playable/viable, no one enjoys spending dozens of hours leveling, gearing, dropping massive gold or $$$, and then finding out that their spec is at best B tier or at worst trash can tier, with no guarantee of a fix (or buffs)].

Half the tuning Blizzard does isn’t even pvp related, but the pve buffs/nerfs often trickle down into pvp as well and we have to suffer the consequences. Some specs get nuked due to their performance in one bracket, and the result ends up being the spec being trash can tier to play in all other brackets, etc.

WoW will probably die at some point, and the pvp playerbase may continue to diminish, but there is a loyal enough fan base that will play wow pvp no matter how good or bad it is, because there is no other game like it and/or no other game that comes remotely close to doing what wow pvp does.

My next guess is that some new content dropped for D4? If this is the case, then it’s no surprise (to me at least) that the game would be popping off. Like any game though, including wow, new content always = an increase in participation, but as that content gets consumed and people get tired/bored of it, that participation will fall off gradually if not hard.

Expansion releases on the 7th I think, in a few days. Game was amazing at launch but the UI issues, and it had terrible to no end game content at max level. All of this has been resolved. And they improved the social aspect, raids, and end game content. PvP areas and objectives with their own transmogs and such… Everyone should check it out…

Rated PvP is such a mess in wow atm, I think a wow break is a good idea lol. Yes the fan base keeps wow alive, an aging fan base, you would think Blizz would cater to them more considering they are what keeps the game alive.

You’re definitely not wrong on this.

Yeah we all need a break (I think) at some point or another. I actually unsubbed yesterday, but after seeing that my sub doesn’t expire until March 20th, I’ve reconsidered my frustrations with wow lol. Plus I’m addicted, so my breaks don’t last very long, and half the time my breaks from retail are just spent playing some iteration of classic instead lol (e.g., hardcore, sod, etc.).

I think this is one of the big issues. The pvp mains, or players taking part in pvp seriously and/or for a significant amount of time, are a relatively small % of the playerbase (from what I’ve always heard/read), and because of this, Blizzard largely doesn’t gaf about catering to us.

Hey, I’m all for other games poppin off. I hope that every gamer is successful in finding that game (or those games) that help them escape or further enjoy life

???

Anyone ever actually tried D4 PvP?

No one does it because some geared person rocks up and 1 shots you then walks off.

I’ve been one shot and I’ve been the 1 shotter.

A single proc from one item does enough dot damage to make you chug 9 potions to try not to die through the dot damage lmao

I did when it was initially released. Let’s say balance was not the game’s strong suit.

If people cry about wow pvp not being balanced i cannot imagine what they would say about d4, besides barely anyone pvps in d4, the pvp zones are usually empty after 2 weeks cause there is no real incentive to be there and all of the endgame mats to upgrade gear are from pve activities. It is an arpg at the end of the day.

I never cared about glad mounts, and high ratings, I just wanted the cool looking gear, the transmoggies. Pew pew pew, having a blast, drinks w friends, win and lose, its pvp… Never cared about balance or any of that leetist stuff either. Logging and simming your toon and all that rubbish.
Diablo 4 will be AMAZING!!!

Any askers?

D4 is so inferior to D2R that it isnt even funny.

Hey buddy maybe its time to stop writing essays about how bad this game is. When you are in a toxic relationship you need to cut it off. Its not you its the game, definitely.

This is not about me, this will cost the game alot of players. Blizzard allowing wow pvp to be over ran with RMT Boosters. Even at the low ratings because of that 1600 gear token, even Blitz is nothing but premade matches.

Solo is not solo, they rig the que system to create premades.

Hahahaha, thats rich.

Rich that players would rather play another game than be power farmed by 3rd party website employees.

To those reading this they have a multi million dollar operation going on atm selling content in wow, alotta money changing hands, to think they do not have shady website employees on the forums to derail and silence players from talking about whats going on.

There is a reason your shuffle game has 5 classes from the same servers, and sometimes the same guild all on one team, in the same match… How they rise in rating always being in the game game/team together.

This season just like all before for decades they will sell hundreds of those glad mounts for up to a grand a pop, and that 1600 gear token is why the low ratings are packed w one sided teams of professional players who play the game as their full time income.

There are a lot of people who feel self-entitled to more rating because they have main character syndrome. I see a lot of bad players at 1600 but not a plague of boosters like you would have us believe. You must be very unlucky to keep que’ing into them.
