But then you will be stuck having to join Night Fae since the better suited covenants (Necrolords, Venthyr) will be sub-optimal.

Except for the fact that he doesn’t have a single tip 10 comp that includes Havoc
It was his fourth worst melee dps spec for PvP overall. He barely had it over enhance, outlaw and fury.
Even world PvP, a place where Havix was terrific, is going to see the spec fall from grace as their self sustain and defensives all saw nerfs across the board
If you want to play Havoc because it’s fun and you mainly play PvE where you can get group support to prop you up, then go for it. The playstyle is still enjoyable, it simply got nerfed in pretty much every aspect of the game
Mythic AoE could still be decent depending on tuning
There’s always a raid spot for one DH
But that’s about it
Only if you want to be the best of the best in pve. Necrolord is go to for pvp and the damage is not that bad in pve. Venthyr looks nice for fans of BoS, and with the conduit a good rank can even tank.
