DH is doomed (up to half expansion)

again the whole left side of the tree (mainly essence break/inertia/momentum) are ruining the rest of havoc. I am not a huge Aldrachi fan but it could work if the base tree was trimmed of all these degenerate and unfun shatter windows we are forced into.

oh and make know your enemy a passive or at the center top of the tree so its more easily accessible for every build instead of one.

wont happen, a select few who are obsessed with the degenerate shatter playstyle that a majority of the havoc community is in protest of also are the mods and run the discord with occasional contact with the spec dev (an ex rogue player) and ban/silence ANYONE who does not fall in line with the essence break/inertia/momentum playstyle.

you know that fel scarred and aldrachi both dont run inertia or essence break in single target on beta as of posting right? and the jury is still out on which playstyle is better in m+

thats literally not true.

and my point still stands. the bottom left side of the havoc tree needs redone with Essence break needing scrapped or nerfed into oblivion along with Momentum and inertia.

i mean it is true, the current sims show that no mover is actually ahead by a good margin for both trees in single target. I for one actually like essence break and inertia, so lets not scrap them. the only reason it becomes an issue with Aldrachi reaver is because you’re stacking even more burst windows on top of those, its an issue with Aldrachi reaver, not essb/inertia

no lets, no one likes them. they are degenerate and unfun and have been since inception.

i suggest you speak for yourself. on live retail both no mover and essb/inertia are viable, with no mover only being behind by a couple %. theres no reason why both cant exist and be equally viable, as demonstrated by the balance between the two on live.

viable and the only way to play currently to push the most out of the spec. If you are not taking these talents you are a detriment and not doing all you can to perform. Even if they are boring and hilariously unfun.

A vast majority of the havoc community hates them aside from a few controlling minority who also happens to run the discord and bans/silences anyone who disagree or speaks out on this unpopular playstyle.

Many wished break was weaker or outright gone, inertia too during the rework but the loud few who had the devs ear due to being the leads of the discord pushed through the unpopular playstyle and silenced anyone with who complained.

fine, make essence break and inertia a few % behind a simple more bfa playstyle :upside_down_face: :upside_down_face: :upside_down_face: so people can play something else. but it wont happen, the discord and the shatter playstyle lovers would through a fit to the like we have never seen. They do whenever your even mention what I just said.

its a couple of a percent difference, still viable in endgame content.

i mean, ok thats fine lol. did you think this was some kind of gotcha? im not gonna lose sleep over 2-3% dps if it means i can play what i think is fun.

you keep speaking for the majority of havoc players. do you even have any data to show this or are you just making stuff up?

yeah again it kinda sounds like ur just making stuff up. again, both are viable in endgame content and are very balanced relative to one another. if you dont like one, you can play the other without consequence.

I love both Inertia and EssB, if I wanted to stand still and spam 2-3 buttons for my rotation I’d just reroll Arms.

couple % is massive. if its so minor lets just reverse the rolls.

no, but the mods would never let it happen. People in the cord and on these forms lose their marbles for even just suggesting it.

tons of posts here on the forums. was alot in the discord at one time before the leadership began just willy nilly banning people for disagreeing. and no they were not rude about it, just brought strong differential opinions that the mods didnt like and couldnt argue against.

Even Jedith is guilty of this as much as I dig the guy and appreciate his content, all SL and DF he was supporting and praising the essence break/inertia playstyle without advocating for people who wanted something else.

actual fake news.

inertia and break were legit arms mechanics a decade before havoc. Go play warrior again or rogue and leave havoc alone.

you seem to think the mods of the havoc discord have some kind of massive power over the havoc devs. believe me, that isn’t true. You are also just factually wrong about inertia/essb being the current play on the beta, both trees actually do sim higher without them in single target. Also i prefer inertia, and like having essb as an option.

Not often that you can see a man start to give up in text format lmao.

yeah, you proposed that scenario and i said its fine. if i wanna play what i like ill take the extremely minor dps loss, and if i wanna min max ill play whats best. not a crazy concept.

yeah i mean you can keep just saying words, it doesnt make them correct or accurate. plenty of people in the DH discord say they like the no mover playstyle (ive recently been saying in the discord that i prefer no mover for aldrachi, so im not sure what you’re talking about).

Allow me to copy/paste the brief list of complaints that I have compiled that I cannot post in the actual Beta feedback thread for some reason

Preface - complaints not rooted in raw numbers. If Havoc went live as-is and was untouched we’d be top 5 at worst, probably more likely top 3. We were keeping up with Arcane and Unholy, and those specs were bugged and massively overtuned respectively

  1. Core Demon Hunter complaints do actually exist beyond just the hero trees, though these haven’t been talked about much
  • Demon Hunter tree puts too many critical talents at the bottom of the tree. (Rush of Chaos, The Hunt, Sigil of Spite, Flames of Fury, Quickened Sigils, Darkness, Fel Devastation).
  • Aldrachi does not have the points to take Darkness at all times. Lose out on raid CD. Very bad.
  • Know Your Enemy still bugged, still gives trinkets and cantrip effects bonus damage. Nerfed because of this.
  • Any Means Necessary Chaos damage conversion can be parried.
  1. Aldrachi Reaver feels boring to play at best for most people. There are some exceptions, but they are few and far between.
  • Defeats the purpose of the talent trees. Ended up right back to where we started; Battle for Azeroth gameplay loop (not inherently bad, but very limiting as far as design goes)
  • Similar to Venthyr. Maximize uptime, maximize debuff duration, pray for RNG tied to Chaos Strike spam (Blade Dance resets, Souls)
  • Souls can be left behind because there is no means to automatically pick them all up.
  • No burst. All flat damage. Heavily uptime dependent.
  • Fun talents (Essence Break, Inertia, A Fire Inside, Fel Barrage, Glaive Tempest…) all sidelined to amplify Chaos Strike and fury generation.
  • Extremely overtuned relative to other hero talents. Stacking 30% amps. No way it doesn’t get nerfed.
  • Raid might be simple, dungeons are not. Need a PhD in Thermodynamic Nuclear Astrophysics to properly play in keys. VERY EXHAUSTING.
  1. Fel-Scarred is extraordinarily weak.
  • Still has some problems with emphasis on uptime. Probably favors Cycle of Hatred and Shattered Destiny gameplay. Not the end of the world, but disappointing.
  • Arbitrarily given the same problem as Isolated Prey. Focused Hatred should always benefit your damage against your primary target.
  • Damage of Demonsurge is extremely weak. Does less damage in pure patchwerk than autoattacks.
  • Bugs. Bugs everywhere. Lots of script in this tree, not all of it is working properly. Demonsurge can be parried. Fairly positive Burning Blades is not coded correctly.
  • Why is Burning Blades a DoT effect instead of one instance of damage per application?
  • “Out-of-Meta” buffs feel weak. Not necessary. Could shift those buffs to while you are in hardcast Meta (not Demonic). Make the hardcast Metamorphosis way stronger, give proper burst.
  • Untethered Fury feels like a meme.
  • Demonic Intensity “empowered abilties” don’t feel powerful.
  • STILL MORE FUN THAN ALDRACHI.
  1. Visuals suck. If we’re stuck with Aldrachi, there are no visible spell effects that at least make you feel like you’re powerful (even if you don’t have engaging gameplay). Fel-Scarred visuals are very lackluster. Minor point, but still important, especially given other class hero trees are a visual spectacle.

ok bud, nice cover. im sure VooDoo tells you that before he kisses you at night before bed.

My dude, what’s even the point of those 4 talent points if they’re not better than not spending them?

How would I fix this?

Simple.

  1. Increase the magnitude of Demonsurge’s damage by no less than 100%.
  2. Retool Focused Hatred to work on your primary target regardless of the number of enemies it hits.
  3. Increase the magnitude of each empowered ability granted by Demonic Intensity
  4. Retool Monster Rising to be a significant agility amplification when you cast Metamorphosis.
  5. Retool Burning Blades to be a single damage instance, rather than a damage-over-time effect.
  6. I dunno, do something with Untethered Fury. Not sure what the point of increasing our fury pool is.

cant help but noticed that not only do you have 0 evidence to back up any of your claims, but you also have no retort other than “nu uh” to the fact that no mover is literally looking to be bis for both hero trees right now in single target. you just want to be mad.

Don’t argue with fools. They win through vast experience.

Let me tell you, this Essence Break, it’s a disaster, folks. People are saying, ‘What is going on with this Essence Break?’ It’s a mess. We need to get rid of it, and we need to get rid of it fast. We’re going to make Havoc great again, okay? We’re going to take out this Essence Break, and we’re going to replace it with something much better, much smarter. People are going to love it, believe me. This is what we need to do for the players, for the community. We’re going to fix this, and we’re going to fix it fast.
