DH healer - Like Auriel from HotS

When I’m not playing WoW I usually get some games in HotS.

Auriel seems like a Disc Priest type of healer - where their healing is linked to their damage.

Would be cool to give DH’s a 3rd healing spec in a similar manner as Auriel.

What do you guys think?

Oh also! Give DH’s the ability to summon - kind of how they gave battle rez’s and lust to other classes to help with diversification.

How in the world would a healing spec thematically fit for demon hunters. Just stop

Thematically? Who cares?

It’s about function and fun. We have transmog for theme and aesthetics.

DH is basically the strongest class in the entire game, and you want to make them even stronger…

Back to moonguard with you.

Healing doesn’t work thematically nor does it fit lore at all. As far as a third spec go a ranged spec could work because there is precedence for it:

Illidan’s meta form made him ranged, Rain from Above function as a ranged skill. You could probably develop a whole kit around fel lances or javelins of some sort.

*On the diversification note thats unneeded. We already provide the magic dmg taken buff as well as darkness for spirit link interaction. We don’t need more.

Priests have Disc - which is the strongest healer in the game. DK’s have Blood - the strongest tank in the game. Both still hold those spots even after the 8.1 nerfs.

DH’s are pretty damn good at DPS - but I don’t know if I’d say they’re the best.

Not sure how you qualify your statement.

Do you realize you’re playing a fantasy game where everything is made up.

People in real life don’t cast healing spells from their hands or fireballs at other people from random sources of magic.

In fantasy ANYTHING is possible.

I edited it to better reflect my point. Which irregardless healing doesn’t make sense still for a dh period.

Even in fantasy you have to stick with the rules you have set in the universe. If you keep breaking your own rules your fantasy setting is going to suck.

lol rules? Because there’s “laws” in place when it comes to magic?

You RP people are hilarious.

I never understood the hardcore RP people either.

I just play to have fun and like different ways of playing. I try not to get stuck on lore. Lore doesn’t impact how I play and kill (or heal) things in game.

Because more classes need things stolen from them to make DHs… yeah… I’ll let the demonology warlocks know, and my disc priest. Pardon if they are not amused.

Idk what to tell you man, you don’t think fantasy settings need set rules so they don’t get ridiculous?

"Hey guys, fel is the literal embodiment of chaos and destruction but here let me soothe your wounds with it because there are no rules to what i can do with magic.

While i’m at it, let that frost mage burn down some trees because ice magic can do what it wants. Also, it’s too bright outside today, tell the holy priest to blow up the sun because magic can do anything, lol"

By the power of fel, I command you to be HEALED!

We’re talking about fantasy - ridiculous has no place here. The limits are boundless.

The limits are what the writer makes them to be. That’s the point.

I still think there should be a realm where the class restrictions are removed just for funs.

The game tells a story, a fantasy story that builds the world for the player to immerse themselves in. Most people don’t enjoy heroes with no limits. We want them to have weaknesses and strengths. We don’t want a Mary Sue that is perfect and can do everything. We need the story to make sense within the rules of the world that it’s set in.

Rules make the story more interesting and believable.
