Has anyone figured out how to beat a DH 1v1 as Fury? Here’s my strategy, but I just can’t keep up with their burst and passive dodge.
Step 1 - Engage without charge
Step 2 - trinket stun
Step 3 - pummel eye beam
Step 3A - by this time I am low on health and do a leap charge to get some health back.
Step 4 - wait 1.1 seconds after blade dance to spend rage
Step 4A - by this time i am low on health again and enrage regen
Step 5 - Storm bolt reign from sky and then shield reflect the last part of it
Step 6 - Die to them in demon form with full health despite best efforts
What am I doing wrong here?
Nothing? The game isn’t designed around 1v1. Heck, it barely allows for the 3v3 of arena, and you still hear those people complain. Some specs are much better than others at 1v1 situations. As not a PvP-expert, my general impression is that Fury is kind of middle of the pack and Havoc DH is absolutely top tier.
It’s a bad matchup where you have to have an advantage in skill and/or gear to overcome. And checking out your armory, you’re probably not going to have a gear advantage on a lot of serious players. Empty gem sockets, no enchants, and really bad Essences aren’t doing you any favors either.

Why are warriors here so bent on being able to 1v1
It might be selection bias? There’s no guides out there for 1v1 situations so people turn to the forums more readily for simple questions. Or maybe it’s because Warriors have been 1v1 monsters in the past but aren’t in BfA. I don’t browse enough of the other class boards to know if this sort of thing is common or not.
DH has more cc, more dodge, more mobility, more healing(outside of enraged regen) and they can fly up in the air where u cant hit them(and therefore cant heal)…rip warrior lol.

Tough crowd here. I am not asking or complaining about a balance related issue (even though one might exist). I am not asking why it’s not fair that I can’t beat a DH 1v1. I am asking for any tactics some might have learned since Legion regarding better tactics for engaging DH’s in 1v1 combat.
Warriors have consistently been underdogs 1v1 save a few expansions, and that is why I chose the class to begin with; I liked the challenge. It’s more satisfying to win when you are an underdog. If I wanted to be a 1v1 king I would main a DH, Rogue, WW Monk, maybe Ret Paladin, or whatever the FoM class is.
However, despite warriors issues with 1v1, over the years I have learned how to crush mages, rogues, locks, druids, spreists, hunters some monks, and have learned to some extent compete against good Ret Paladins. When I go up against a highly competent opponent playing a class that has a distinct advantages over the warrior class, I might lose. However, I make it a good fight. I just can’t seem to do that with DH’s. So any tips would be appreciated.
Please don’t come in here being an elitist talking about my bad gear, PVP rankings, commenting why I shouldn’t want to 1v1 a class etc. Just want to understand the best tactics. Am I playing it right? Could I be doing something better, etc.?
If you really want advice on that… maybe try the “War Mode and World PvP” forum? You might find people more invested in 1v1 scenarios over there, even if fewer of them are specifically Warriors.
