DF S4 numbers a disaster, almost below 500k runs alrdy

Why was this season such a disaster?

Cata has the by far lowest Classic numbers, and have a hard time believing the playerbases here overlap.

MoP remix was buggy and rushed power progression fiesta. So if people preferred unbalanced MoP to tryhard Retail WoW, then maybe that tells us that Blizz should stop prioritizing competitive WoW? Because the vast majority clearly do not care for it?

End of expansion malaise? Well every single S4 dungeon has only been played in a single season so far. Whereas the dungeons in S3 had often been featured for 2 years of M+ playtime already.

Honestly. The most appealing conclusion to draw from this is that the DF dungeons are terrible. The problem of course is that Warthin for some reason, has the same dungeon design. More overdesigned crap designed around the fact that every spec has 3 defensives and pseudo interrupts (Because a minority of the playerbase somehow managed to convince Blizz that overdesigning the game was good).

At least we can hopefully finally put the idea that DF content is good to rest, because the only season of DF where the content had to stand on its own, S4, failed impressively.

Ah yes, good ol’ end of expansion doomsdayers out here spreading the good word on a Tuesday morning.

Never change GD, never change (even through 4 separate edits within 2 minute of post being made).

S4 of SL was good
Entirety of Corruption patch in BFA was the most fun the expansion ever was
Legion final patch was prime Legion too

This was garbage. So no idea what you are talking about.

I play both and many play both

Another thing to consider.

With bullions available, the gearing process was sped up considerably.

I reached max ilvl wayyyyy before I normally do and I didn’t even rush rush like some people. (I spent time in remix and Cata and still maxed ilvl in retail faster than normal)

I’d imagine some people finished gearing a couple weeks ago.

I actually agree on the point that DF dungeons are kind of a slog.

I felt better running older expansion dungeons in M+ than I do doing DF M+ for S4.

-But it’s also summer, people are away from their PCs and on vacations.

-MoP Remix

-SoD Season 4 starting soon.

-Cataclysm Classic

-TWW Beta

-Other games, probably the biggest thing taking me away from DF.

The community troll voted the train dungeons in S4 of Sl. So we were playing old WoD dungeons, yet people had loads of fun playing them.

Honestly, DF dungeons are just bad. Ppl can not admit it due to the cognitive dissonance they have from saying how great DF has been all expansion, disregarding the fact the old dungeons carried M+ this expansion. Especially s3 that had the best numbers, and only two DF dungeons.

And, possibly related, was one of the most inflated seasons ever

Originally I was planning on getting portals to all DF dungeons this season, but that all flew out the window when remix came out. I don’t feel like logging over to retail just to do M+. Any roster of dungeons could have been selected and I still would have stayed on remix.

Wrong, the correct conclusion is they didn’t do anything cool for the season with respect to player power while at the same time releasing 2 other popular game modes. You’re really terrible at trolling.

With the way they:

  • Level squished M+
  • Reworked crests
  • Addition of Bullions
It became significantly easier and faster to gear up. This leads to a lot of players feeling like they met their goal for the season and waiting for the next expansion.

You also have SoD Phase 4 releasing on the 11th, which means you have a lot of players going back to SoD to do their pre-quests and what not.

You also have players still playing Remix and Cata.

All of these things are splitting the playerbase as they wait for the next expansion.

SL S4 had major drop off as well.

SL S4 ended with 9.6 million keys run in total. DF S4 is already at 10 million.

Oh no a do nothing filler season has less players.

S4 isn’t a real season. A lot of people will not play a fated season seriously.

There’s always an end of expansion lull.

With TWW right around the corner, all DF starts to feel less valuable. And that’s okay.

Some people enjoy the lull to catch up on alts or fishing achievements or whatever. Some people play other games they’ve been meaning to try. Some people still go hard in raids and dungeons even though their shiny purples are about to get stomped by quest greens but whatever cause they’re having fun. That’s okay too.

With the pre-patch virtually guaranteed on July 23rd and a potential end-of-season announcement coming today (S3’s was exactly 3 weeks prior to end), does it really matter? The launch timing of this season was fairly poor for my group and guild for various reasons and that is the primary reason we didn’t push nearly as hard; had little to do with the content itself.

Try to read my post again

Id argue the less valuable season is S3, where you know you will have a +45 ilvl new season of M+ completely invalidate all ur gear before the new expansion. Mind u week 23 of S3 had higher numbers than even week seven of this season (s4)

So disingenuous to keep bringing up week-to-week numbers.

Last season of the expansion, no new raid, Mists of Pandaria: Remix, and waiting for pre-patch/launch.

Now now, we’re not allowed to speak truth in this thread. Doomsdaying only
