DF Profession Specialization Reset

As of now, if you regretted your profession specialization decision, you are done. If you somehow did not optimize it (a new system, that you didn’t understand already), you can’t craft proper and everything you make is junk.

The system is not the most intuitive. At this stage it’s better to level an alt and restart there.

Why can’t we relearn the specialization?
something like a one off reset with a very long cooldown
or more extreme, reset the entire profession back to clean slate like a new toon.

It’s a nice and fun system, until you realize you are doomed. Now you can’t do nothing.

what’s the worst part? starting fresh on an alt is actually better…

Eventually you’ll be able to max out all the specializations, so having a reset is pointless.

the obsessive minmaxing is not how the system is intended to be used.

it’s not even min maxing dude…
it’s cheaper for you to buy off AH than crafting yourself if you didn’t put your points right.
Eventually = dead profession for yourself unless you optimized it.

Right now, it’s all or nothing.

I am not even trying to make money, but to level it decent so I can self supply to myself/friends. But with a wrong foot forward, it’s just better to buy everything. Might as well delete it for good.

I feel this. I picked the wrong choice for cloth and locked myself out of doing public orders until I grind it out to unlock both nodes.

I’m just smashing all points into weapons, hafted, axes and stuff and trying to max that specifically. Spread it all out everywhere doesn’t seem to be the play.

you actually can’t

to pick further subs, you need to reach 75/100 and 100/100

and to reach 75-100/100 you need to craft sparked items.
no one is sending you work order to craft sparked items if you are not guarantee-ing them 4-5 star. you are locked in

i figured people would do that, so i put mine into alloys.

Yeah, I’m kind of buttmad that I didn’t put any points into Form Over Function for Engi, cause apparently you need it for important things.

…then it’ll just be bypassed when they farm M+ for a good 2 weeks or more straight.

you can the 100/100 is lvl
it just take a long time
my mining is at 100 and i do get the skill points rarely but they show up

i mean … if you’re pushing world first keys, i feel a little more preparation on your part was needed.

if you’re just doing mid to high keys, you’ll be fine missing 50 dps.

you are just talking out of your s, have you tried a non-gathering profession

You know what I heard (but can’t confirm)? If you put points into a profession, unlearn it and relearn it, the points are still locked in. It’s a totally permanent choice. Isn’t that nuts?

and you… im not trying to min max stupid 380s here
im trying to reach a point where i can supply consumable to my friends/team.
you know what? playing with the profession…

Yeah. If you pick wrong (and you can) and you actually care about crafting it’s better to forget and reroll that profession slot into something else.

In Dragonflight, players will eventually have the ability to max out all of their profession trees, but at the start of the expansion, players will have to decide what routes and items they want to focus on

im talking about making a mistake, as you learn a new system, there is no fing way to reset whatsoever.
It locks you in even if you delete and relearn your profession, isn’t that insane? it is fing insane.

No it’s cheaper because people are crafting stuff for skill ups and selling at a loss.
I gave away a bunch of crafted stuff that I burned like 50k worth of mats on just for skill ups.

it still means the same thing

it is cheaper to buy than to craft yourself unless you put your points right
