DF Mini-map button missing

Posted this in GD, but the more I think about it the more I feel this has to be a bug.

I’m leveling a new toon. Get him to 60. Immidiately go to the DF portal so I can go into Val right quick so the DF mini-map button pops up and I can put my DR skills in before getting on the boat to start the initial quest line. And the portal now states that it requires level 70. I’ve done this at least 20 times this xpac and I have always been able to use the portal prior to doing the opening questline. I figure, “OK they changed that and I guess they could have a reason. I’ll just boat over and get going that way”

I do the opening quests to the point where I have selected a zone to start in … still no mini-map button to put my DR points in. Is this a bug? If not at what point does the mini-map button show up now? When did they change this? Like I’ve said, I’ve leveled at least 20 alts into dragonflight and this is something I’ve never encountered before.

I have attempted to disable all addons, reload, do a full shut down of the game and relog. Took the time with my 3 little vigor orbs and no bonuses to fly up to Valdraken. Nothing is bringing up the button. I should add that this currently only occurs on this one character. All other relevent characters have the button.

Can confirm. I have a level 64 toon that does not have the ability to dragonfly because of this. I put in a GM help request last night and still haven’t heard back.w

By the looks of it this is a bug for most/everyone. I doubt you’ll hear back from a GM with anything more that “We know and we are working on it”

Came here looking for answers on the same thing among several other issues I’m having that might be related.

My level 65 alt has their button missing (with renowns and dragonriding talents) and the summon random favorite mount does not seem to include any of my dragonriding mounts. It feels like the game doesn’t recognize that I’m in the right expansion.

In addition, all gear rewards from world quests require level 70. On top of that, they’re ilvl 327 instead of the 350 that I was getting before. But in hindsight, that might’ve been a bug in itself since I’m used to seeing WQ gear ilvl depend on your level.

This just happened to me for the first time as well. Hit level 60 last night with this character and didn’t get the dragonriding icon on the mini map after arriving in The Dragon Isles. Have tried a number of different troubleshooting steps but no luck so far. All of my other characters in The Dragon Isles don’t have this issue. Also noticed that most of the side quests in The Dragon Isles are showing (Low Level) for this character. Haven’t seen that before either.

Same happening to me idk whats causing it. Still not there on reload, relog, disabling all addons.

I am also experiencing this with any and all characters starting into the Dragonflight content since last patch. This would be a very bad thing for returning players to run into.

With these interfaces of expansions only being accessed through the minimap icon, I highly suggest Blizzard add an additional access point to these systems, as I assume yet another one will be coming for War Within. Adventure Guide would be the logical place to add it.

I have a custom macro to access the other stuff but don’t know how to apply that to dragon riding training window. Would be nice to not have to rely on a macro to access content though.

Got it. Throw this into a macro and it will bring up the DragonFlight Flying Training window.

/run DragonridingPanelSkillsButtonMixin:OnClick()

This is a poor substitute to an actual solution from Blizzard however, as this post will likely fade into obscurity without further pressing and no one else will have the solution.

This stuff needs to be accessible in game without needing to resort to scripts and macros.
