DF Dungeons are not fun

Subjective, I know. I’m not a fan of the dungeons this expansion and mixing old dungeons into the seasons masked how strongly I felt about the current ones. I don’t even know what to associate with the dislike, tbh. They just don’t feel enjoyable to me for the most part. I really like AV, though.

:beers: Cheers to hoping WWI dungeons are a ton of fun

Not only am I not a fan of the DF dungeons, I wasn’t a fan of the SL dungeons either. The problem is they keep trying to make dungeons “interesting” by adding forced RP and annoying mechanics, even in Normal/Heroic. This isn’t new either. WoD and Legion had it (eg I cannot stand Court of Stars).

My suspicion is that on Timewalking weeks, TW dungeon participation is much higher than any dungeon participation in the current expansion, particularly if it’s TBC/Wrath TW.

What would you say the sticking points are for the dungeons?

I’m not a fan of dungeon farming 24/7 for vault as a fun concept for wow end game…

yup its why i skipped this season
Last season was the most fun i had in m+ since legion because modern dungeon design being balanced around m+ ruins mythic+ unironically

I feel like they go overboard with trash mechanics. There’s so much crap to dodge and interrupt and cc. Sometimes it can be fun but most of the time its just annoying and tiresome.

I like Halls of infusion, Azure Vault and Ruby life pools. The rest is ok. Also the DF mega dungeon was a little disappointing.

Legion was the dungeon era of wow. Many dungeons, more being added every patch, cool mechanics and every dungeon was unique, with its own theme.

I hate rlp

Every grp someone pulls lightning lizard. And that wrecks hopes and dreams

Yeah, I’m not into RLP and idk why a lot of people seem to like it.

People like RLP cause it’s fast…I’d love to know if there’s something beyond that though.

But yeah, overall disappointing expansion dungeon-wise. AV is probably hands-down my favorite. Neltharus and HoI are also decent in terms of art and design, though the boss encounters are mostly meh. Everything else…blah

I like them just fine.

and yet you are still here . one of those guys who go on steam reviews and say how the game sucks but they have 1000hours game time on it

DF dungeon bosses are alright, but the trash is far too mechanically intense. This is particularly true at high key levels that require an insane amount of hard CC to keep things from spiraling out of control.

Yikes, man. That was a pretty loaded response to me saying I wasn’t a fan of this expansion’s dungeons compared to past ones. Didn’t know that made me a rage poster, my bad?

I’m with ya on this one. Thematically I only like neltharus and none mechanically.

All of the df dungeons require an insurmountable amount of cc that it just slows down the pace of the dungeons. Even on m+. Specially compared to the older dungeons where it was just us vs a mass of mobs.

For me, I’ve always enjoyed the pve content more if I’ve enjoyed the storyline to which it relates.

As much as I’ve enjoyed Dragonflight in the sense that it’s a “reset” button in terms of some fundamental systems designs, along with way better gearing, I haven’t remotely been invested in the story.

Mechanically, the dungeons are okay. But I just don’t find them that thematically appealing. If I don’t really care about the expansion’s story, I don’t care about the dungeons

Well you only need 8 dungeons for vault, so I am not sure how you arrive at 24/7

Other than some dungeons with annoying mini bosses near the end, I have no issue with these dungeons.

SL dungeons were pretty good, except on weeks when spiteful was a thing and you needed them to die before you could move on in like mist, spires, pain etc

Imo, the last great group of dungeons was in WoD. Auch was one of my favs as was SMBG.

I really don’t like the dungeon pool either, I’d second this. Mostly because of trash honestly.

RLP dragon trash is annoying, and the last boss just bricks pug keys. 2nd boss when some ranged player is standing over yonder…that’s a neat spawn over there my guy. I guess you’re soloing that add since it’s way TF in outer space.

BH is fine, although the last boss is not intuitive for tank positioning and that makes a world of difference on higher tyrannical keys. Losing 1-3 globals on the totem is rough on melee.

AV is fine without the skip. Last boss is a little dicey if dps aren’t up to snuff. Not very intuitive to tank her against a wall and rotate to cheese orbs and bunch the crystals up. Fight is drastically harder if you don’t do the optimal strat.

AA is prob my favorite of the bunch. Crawth does hit kinda hard though.

Neltharus is terrible. No one knows how to do chains, the chain caster of the mages on mammoth side that takes all the CC is so triggering. Simultaneous frontals and pushback is whack. Horrid dungeon for pugs.

NO is too long, trash has all the things. Aoe, bleeds, buffs, mortal strike, lightning Mack trucks that shoot on repeat, cleaves, more buffs, adds. Also the to last boss skip isn’t intuitive at all and has a huge impact on time.

HoI is long, but the trash after frog boss sucks. The stealth mobs that stun the tank for several globals suck. The pack of 5 mobs before frog boss is stupidly OP on fortified weeks. If you don’t chain cc correctly, and stagger the instant casts, your group can just be deleted instantly. 3rd boss rot damage is kinda rough on tyrannical weeks for some heals it seems.

Missing one, can’t think of it right now. Sure there is something in there I don’t like…
