DF Blood DK Suggestions

Unless I’m missing something, there doesn’t seem to be anything set to allow Heart Strike to hit additional targets while standing within Death and Decay. Are there plans for this to become a baseline mechanic of the ability? Perhaps this could be baked into or serve as a replacement for Improved Heart Strike?



Heartbreaker seems pretty far out of place. It seems like this should be below Improved Heart Strike where Leeching Strike is located. Leeching Strike could branch off from the right of Improved Heart Strike or from below Vampiric Blood.



I appreciate the addition of Bone Shield charges to Death’s Caress but I fear this ability will continue to be largely ignored now that it must compete with so many other options. However, if Heartbreaker was moved as suggested above, this would create an opportunity to place an improvement to Death’s Caress in its place.

Death’s Welcome - Your Death’s Caress deals damage and applies Blood Plague to all enemies within 10 yards of the target and has a chance per target struck to activate Crimson Scourge.



Blood Worms will need some serious help if they’re going to be expected to compete with Voracious. I think either increasing their offensive output or allowing them to also heal the DK’s nearby allies when they burst would make for an interesting choice.

Cleaving Strikes. Heart Strike hits up to 3 additional enemies while you remain in your Death and Decay. Its in the class tree on the unholy side right under Raise Dead.

Odd place for it, but much appreciated.

I’m not planning on taking heartbreaker anyway, I expect the main class tree is going to give blood more than enough resources as is. Death Strike goes down by 5 RP, runic empowerment giving extra runes, etc.

Death’s Caress is probably only worth it on mythic+. You start pulls with it and now it will refresh Bone Shield’s duration so you don’t have to marrowrend and can immediately grab aggro. I’m pretty happy with that change.

I agree that bloodworms is just not competitive. Might be better if they didn’t explode and just focused on increased DPS so the node is a choice between offense or defense.
