There we go… for those who are concerned about not using their other flying mounts.
I am interested to see how much faster dragon riding will be than the reg flying system and I’m happy for it as long as we can do both.

Future patch could very well mean 10.3.5, the very last batch of the expansion.

Dragon gliding the more I read about it doesn’t sound very cool. I really hate this no flying mount until someone waves the green flag on it gating it behind achievements.
It has been far too unreasonable in the past and lighter restrictions on pathfinder need to be addressed for me to even consider purchasing the expansion.
I quit shadowlands without getting my flying mount and I don’t want to come back to more grinding to get someone I’ve had in the game since 2007.
How can you consistently make such a bad game design expansion after expansion, why didn’t they learn from WoD?
They just think it’s something that people should take and like it. Well I’m here to tell you no. I won’t buy your bad game and support your bad game designs any longer.

I’m all for the dragon flying, but I also played gw2 and found it very engaging.
I hope that DF remains the faster option and let everyone who prefers the reg flying enjoy that later down the road if preferred.

I myself am going to hold off on judgment of the dragon gliding until I get my grubby hands on it. This will either be amazing or a flop.
They need to make the achievement available for flying right away and you can atleast get it before you reach max level, if they don’t do that atleast it will say to me they have not learned from their mistakes and they are just creating a game that increases the time played metric and they aren’t actually trying to make a playable game.

DF patch 10.0 will have problems but lack of flying ain’t one of them. Flying is bad and dragon riding sounds like a good compromise. The majority of non-GD game players will accept dragon riding.
Kind of unrelated, but apparently we’ve had pathfinder achievements almost as long as we’ve had basic flying unlocks.
Flying introduced in Burning Crusade release (Jan 16th, 2007).
First pathfinder released during WoD’s patch 6.2 (June 25th, 2015).
At some point during Dragonflight, we’re going to pass the threshold and have had flying unlocked through pathfinder achievements longer than simply buying training. Assuming Dragonflight also does a pathfinder achievement, that is.
Dragon riding will never be faster. It was clear from day one that it’s the new timegating feature of the expansion to stop you from accessing other parts of the zones because if it’s anything like GW2 flying you basically lose the ability to fly up for the most part and it’s more of gliding than it is flying.
We’re already seen in the trailer you can do some kind of triple jump + spin-dash to gain altitude once you’ve gotten enough upgrades. You can probably slowly work your way up to certain areas with this strategy, you just won’t be able to hold space bar, then hold W and fly over the entire zone without engaging anything.
I’ve doom and gloomed this expansion in terms of features, but dragon riding is one of the few things, along with Dracthyr, that actually looks really good.
This is the comparison that wow has the opportunity to surpass.
If they even get close, then I will be stoked as I absolutely love this feature in gw2:
I kind of find it silly that anyone ever actually thought they would render 99.9% of the game’s existing mounts unusable in the current expansion, but hey-ho.

Idk, we dh seem to often be the ire of others for no reason? Start there maybe?
The downside is you’ve probably gotta buy the expansion for that, unless you get a beta invite.
My condolences.
A faster, more engaging flying experience within beautiful zones designed specifically for flying sounds truly awful.
