DF abandons WoW’s solo playerbase... but why?

If your only chance at tier was the catalyzed relic gear, That puts you at minimum 12 weeks after the patch launched.

3 weeks after launch, they over-doubled the drop rate.

There’s always that one person who makes outlandish claims like this. Like, even if it were true, even if they managed to do it, it’s definitely the exception, not the norm.

There’s always someone I see, I look at their mog and think…damn maybe I should change my human warrior to a NE warrior…

Stop making me question my choices!!

Even with the buffed drop rates I managed to find, it would still take about 2 weeks. A full tier set cost a minimum of 1060 relics, and you could expect about 530/week if you did everything and highrolled on daily quest reward RNG

By now people have to realize that if you aren’t a player in the main niche of m+ which is the most popular. It takes little time to assemble a 5man team and to learn the scripted play and pathing. The skill required is significantly less than raid or PvP and the loot funneling is astronomical in comparison to its skill requirements. Ergo it’s super popular.
If you fall into any category outside of m+ you dont matter because you aren’t the vocal majority and ion knows what side the bread is buttered in

you need to finish reading…lol…and not just stop at where you think something irritates you

I SAID…

get over yourself…lol.

Yes I started week 3. I didn’t say I got full tier on 4 characters week 3. That time was spent leveling up the rest of my eight characters.

All of this can be done through LFG which is functionally the same as:

Good, MMOs should encourage people to play together for the best rewards

I don’t even think this deserves a dignified response. Crafting has always required other people in some form. Whether that’s buying stuff off the AH or offering up services in trade chat.

How do you log into an MMO and not think that the designers are going to put systems in that encourage you to embrace the Multiplayer aspect of these games??

I will always think of solo players in an MMORPG like people who walk into an Italian Cuisine Restaurant demanding a burger and fries option. In the case of WoW, the Italian Restaurant even manages to offer that option but those people always demand more. They want the burger and fries option to be as compelling as the core Italian cuisine. It’s absurd but I love reading the QQ.

what about the name says solo player base? did you get dopped on your head as a baby?

Me Myself, Only.

Duh

The GD forum solo players hated mage tower when it was rereleased in SL. They said it was only for sweaty esports elitists.

Nothing takes 10 minutes to kill unless you’re literally auto attacking.

The only mobs that are even remotely challenging are the black dragon flight mobs.

However, if you think you may need more gear to kill things faster, the game has ample opportunities to get that gear.

I think the point is being lost on people, and all the rebuttals are robotic cookie cutter responses. “It’s an MMO, bro, what do you expect?” So it wasn’t an MMO prior to DF?

I honestly think some people aren’t able to grasp the truth of things even if you show them pictures and facts, just the typical hee haw reactions when you trigger their alarms.

Are there any real arguments that stay on topic and address the points made in the first post ?

If you’re taking anything longer than 30 seconds to kill random mob #1826, no amount of gear will help you.

You being a bad player has nothing to do with lack of solo play

Not neccesserially. You still have to have people help you when crafting orders and what not i believe.

I mean, the easiest group content is so easy, you could turn off chat, and never know any difference. Normal dungeons are basically solo content, and heroics aren’t far behind. Just completely removing that content, because of the off chance that someone actually says something, and it just happens to be mean is silly. Not doing the weekly world boss, or the elite quests also doesn’t make sense, because you just sign up, and do it. There is almost always a group for those, that you don’t even have to look for.

I’ve always considered myself a solo player, but I really only limit myself to queued content. I mean, I am not pushing high rankings in anything, I don’t have specific people relying on me to be around and perform my best, but I’ve been able to work towards a fair ilvl in PvE, and the ability to work towards full conquest, though I haven’t played in about 10 days (playing hogwart’s legacy, and catching up on FF14).

Lol that list is not biased at all. definitely not cherry picked

There is too much solo content.
