DF abandons WoW’s solo playerbase... but why?

Wrong. IT doesn’t matter what someone is doing they deserve the ability to get more powerful. It is funny how you didn’t answer this part: How does casuals getting good gear affect you if they won’t even be in your area.

Except no one said it needs to be “kill a rabbit”. There is plenty of content and grinding that can be done to improve gear without it being trivial as killing a mob. That was one heck of a strawman attempt

You do get more powerful.

Relatively.

Toons don’t start fully decked in 395 avg gear. They start level 70 at ilvl 310 or something.

If a rabbit drops Eye of Sulfuras, there’s no incentive to do anything but kill that rabbit over and over again.

The princess isn’t in World 1-1 after you stomp the first Gumba.

Welcome to games.

That isn’t an answer to the question champ. How does it impact you if they aren’t going to be playing with you?

You are saying it is kill a rabbit. This “substitute time in place of skill” approach boils down to farming boats or killing a rabbit.

This is simple. Simple, simple, simple. Rise up. Get up off your couch and fight for the loot you want. Or don’t. But this begging stuff ain’t it.

If there was highly skill-based solo content that was under rewarding you might have an argument but there isn’t. Even Mage Tower was recently gutted. I can’t wear Monster Wmergy bear anymore without looking like an Andy. It is obvious solo players avoid challenge and therefore generally don’t deserve better loot.

It literally is.

It’s just not the answer you wanted to hear.

Sorry reality is clashing with your headcannon of being Kirito in Sword Art Online. No, you’re not a “Beta cheater or beater” as he calls himself, you’re just a casual who’ll never be high up the totem pole if you don’t step up.

This Early-Access game culture where the players think they are entitled to have a say in the game development project.

You have the product, you either consume it or you don’t.

You want something to change? You are that passionate about this particular game? Go work for Blizzard.

Suggestions are welcome, but don’t act like they have “taken” something away from you that was never there before. @OP.

I’m having plenty of fun in the game in DF. There are so many things to do I never run out of activities to complete by myself.

We are blessed with Solo Shuffle, a solo player experience with angry NPC.

No it isn’t. You are saying “if something drops from something easy there isn’t anything to do but that”

That does not answer the question. You wouldn’t be forced to stop what you are wanting to do, and if anything just gives you who raids a second chance at loot for the week. That is it.

You just don’t like the concept of others getting rewards doing things you do not think is equivalent.

This is hilarious. The idea of getting off your couch when talking about playing a game and sitting for hours to raid…is sort of an oxymoron.

I know its hard to comprehend, but some of us don’t get hours to play, but they want to feel their gameplay is impactful and rewarding too, and pay the sub fee as you do. If anything they pay more because they are likely to buy those cosmetics they think are cool because they have the disposable income.

Yeah, welcome to risk vs reward and incentives.

It does.

Look, I’m really sorry you’re not the most powerful dps in the game, and you aren’t the only one that can dual wield and you didn’t get a black sword from a world rare you solo’ed before anyone got to it.

I’m really sorry you’ll never meet your Asuna in the game.

But that’s just not how real life is. Real life isn’t a crappy anime and you’re not the main character.

Lack of motivation isn’t just something you have in a game. I find more often than not those self-proclaimed casuals, not real casuals mind you, but “bad casuals / pretend casuals” flip burgers or stack bricks. Real casuals are something else but people like you who play WoW 40 hours a week but are anti-social are not true casuals, you are just anti-social bads and typically you simply have a lack of drive in life as a whole.

True casuals play 3-5 hours a week. They may raid one night, do dungeons, and they aren’t bad. My younger brother was a x2 glad like I was, now he only plays when his wife is on. That’s a casual. Not a bad. Stop trying to conflate the two.

WTF is with you and your anime tropes lol. If anything, being the only person that brings it up, you gotta be obsessed with. Dude SOA wasn’t even that good…and Kirito had to get plot armored lol.

Still the fact you keep trying to argue against something using the argument people want to be anime people and just repeating your same talking point shows you have nothing else to actually argue with dude.

Also, fyi, I have my “Asuna” and go get to sheath my sword nightly, and not in a body pillow like you. Part of why I don’t have the time to raid, pressing small buttons instead of her button :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’m not the one who thinks he’s the main character in an anime and that he can play an MMO fully solo and become the best with the best gear and get the girl.

The sooner you come back down to earth, the sooner you realise this just isn’t how video games work.

Want the best gear in a group based game ? Do the hardest group content.

Want to stick to solo play where you kill rabbits ? Get “half digested carrot” grey items.

This thread is still going?

Dear solo players demanding bis from solo content.

It’s not going to happen. Please stop abusing the horse.

They gave us 1 system that allowed you to sub time in for skill to get the best rewards.

It was the vanilla honor system, and it got promptly removed in TBC, because it was awful.

I got rank 11 in the old system. Then school started again and now I couldn’t bucket-gamer anymore. Worst system I’ve ever experienced.

Neither am I. What is disconnected in your head when someone says they want people who play the game to get avenues to increase their player power, and you summing it up as them being a MC. You have really big unsolved issues man.

Yeah not all MMOs and games are like this champ.

What city do you live in? I will gladly find you a counselor. You very much need it.

Anyway, the point is kinda moot when solo players come in and claim their easy free high ilvl gear takes entirely too much time.

“Renown 25 takes too long to acquire afking these hunts! I want my 405 now now now!”.

Then go play those highly acclaimed successful MMOs.

Oh right, you don’t have a credit card to buy the best gear and compete with the whales in a crappy Korean money extracting scam.
