DF abandons WoW’s solo playerbase... but why?

Because it a massive multiplayer game. Also there is more solo content this expac then most of the ones in the past, but it’s never enough for solo players.

You mean Twitter right? Blizzard doesn’t look at these forums. You guys could have 420 gear right now if you got off the forums for ra couple of hours and actually start doing content.

You can do this now.

Storms, while I agree is boring, is the equivalent system in DF to get tier for casuals. I think we can all agree the catalyst took WAY too long to come out but if you played from DF launch till now extremely casually you should have a full set of Storms gear ready to catalyze your 4 piece today when servers come up.

While I think most people agree that the Catalyst itself came out WAY too late, why is it a bad thing that it takes some time and a little bit of effort to get tier? How is “free” gear engaging in any way and what incentive does it give to keep playing?

No, that gives normal appearances and requires a long and mind numbing grind.

Its just metaphorically stating that you can literally do nothing in the dungeon and still be fine with completing a normal one. Idk, the forums are troll but everyone’s s*** posting here all the time, don’t take anyone seriously. Me included, if you disagree with me then that’s fine.

Either way, have a good day Sir!

You’re moving the goalpost. Are you the op, by chance?

Nah,it’s nice talking to you .You too have a nice day.

Yes I’m the OP.

Just cause I agree with their 100% factual and correct summary of the game.

I believe WoW should offer NPC grouping to allow for players to solo regular dungeons or other entry level / tier group content, to help them learn the mechanics without the toxicity of other players kicking them for being new to the content, even in the lowest tiers. Many other MMOs have been doing this for years, and WoW is far beyond the curve on this point.

Having said that, I really truly do not understand why people want to treat an MMO as a SP game. One of the - If not the defining difference between SP and MMO is multi-player activity. It’s in the names and everything. I’m not hating on people who prefer solo gameplay. I enjoy it myself. And I’d say a good 75-85% of my WoW gameplay this past couple of years has been solo playing.

But I don’t whine and complain about how an MMO is unfriendly to my solo play, expect to be able to get group level rewards for solo level gameplay, etc. That’s just silly and unfair to the people who work together to achieve those rewards. This isn’t rocket surgery. Two people should always be able to accomplish more working together than a single person ever could. It’s basic math.

Gear can 100% be crafted at max power solo. Max rep gives you a 418 piece. Grind gold/mats. Primal chaos from quests.

Yet the forums kept trying to tell me all throughout SL that it was “Historically bad” for solo players.

Just watch, by the end of Dragonflight people will be singing Shadowlands praises. For what it did right that Dragonflight Dreadfully got wrong. Unless they change their stance in 10.1

Yes, because god forbid we have to change everything and everyone all because solo players refuse to find a game that benefits their time.

You can be full normal raid-level geared with full tier set without ever touching a group, how is that not solo-friendly?

lol this post is ridiculous.

Oh, solo players are as ever fond of their revisionist history.

I get it, you hate solo players, ie the crux of the playerbase. The ones that pay the bills that keep this game around.

I don’t hate solo players, I hate the solo players that cry all day long about wanting to have gear as good as mythic+/raiding.
