11.0.5 patch is awful and the class changes are ruining many players fun. These changes are only making the class/spec imbalance bigger than it already is.
I checked some changes and comments. Since I play PvP I’ll start here:

H Paladin that is an absolute hegemon in terms of healers (Disc is only played in comps where Paladin doesn’t have that much synergy) is getting buffed even further so we will have 10.0.5 again but with different paladin spec this time. At the same time R Druid that got some buffs got quickly nerfed even harder so it seems to be even worse in PvP that now.
Now PvE. I’ve seen a topic made by content creators predicting how will class performance change in 11.0.5 and it seems that specs that already dominate DKs and Arcane/Fire Mage got the most out of it.
I just want to say that this is ridiculus and questionable. This is 20th anniversary and while class balance was as bad 20 years ago you don’t have to repeat it. It truely ruins players experience. You may think that some sets with remade textures are enough to hook up players but many of them don’t give a damn about 20 y.o. set. Class balance is crucial in improving players experience. More healers equal in PvP means more of them playing means shorter queues. Lack of class balance in PvE means some specs being gatekept from the content. It’s not even that hard to monitor. You have dozens of websites gathering data for you. You have AWC to track spec performance. What the hell is wrong with this company…
they lost the plot years ago with people like lon only working to help the top 1% and screwing everyone elce
hell, asa bm hunter im seeing a few “you ok hunter” or “your wep broken hunter”. no, its just caz the devs totally screwed me and my class and i cant do jack poop anymore
You definetely understand changes better than content creators hired for wowhead who’ve done some of the highest PvE content world. Why aren’t you making them?
No I mean you are random nobody not doing PvP and in terms of PvE LFR and M+ at best. You are kinda right. These changes don’t affect you because on average you are matched with similarly clueless players. Enjoy your carrott on the a stick… I mean upscaled 20 y.o. old set that everyone will have.
Dude you have lost your mind the patch has not even come out yet and you’re already complaining wait for it to come out and then whine like a little girl you and people like you that wine because you feel the developers have lost their mind or lost sense with reality or whatever nonsense are exactly what is wrong with world of Warcraft and games like this your toxicity on things like this is so outrageous you can either keep playing or do us all a favor and quit people like you are an outrageous eyesore to this community you don’t get your way and you whine you get something you like you still complain how about you man up and play the game and stop your whining it makes me regret ever playing this when it first came out because of people like you
I’mma be real honest, Blizzard could say that they buffed your class by 10% while not doing anything, and most of the playerbase of that class will rejoice over the placebo effect and not be able to actually tell or measure the difference.
If your damage output is too low, it’s you not playing your class right. Play the class you like and don’t worry if another player is on top of the meters. If your damage is passable, they won’t be asking “are you okay hunter.” Focus on fixing what you aren’t doing right, not what the patch notes say!
Part of playing this game is realizing that the devs don’t know what they’re doing and will do EVERYTHING wrong until they’re forced to do something right. I remember the days of ghostcrawler being a total idiot and raging at people saying mechanics he liked were “clunky” and him saying “volley wasn’t a very hunter like spell” when literally they’re a ranged class and volley is literally a term from archery. If you can accept that the devs are functional morons, you’ll have a better time in the game.
This is not remotely new. The devs have proved over and over again, for years, that they live in their own bubble of familiarity with the game and design as if we all do. A major flaw, which shows up over and over again. I get the impression that Blizz doesn’t actually have a QA department or one that isn’t stuck in the same self satisfied loop.
I have news for you everyone is a random nobody. This post when the patch has been live an hour just goes to show that the players being upset immediately are more out of touch.
There are also a laundry list of nerfs the arcane mage got. Effectively what they just did with arcane mage is make so only elite players are going to top the charts. Blizzard is just not sure how they want any of these classes to play. I’ve convinced they are just seeing what sticks based upon the feedback of elite players. It’s the only way I see this making sense. Perhaps I am wrong… Boy I hope I am and it’s just incompetence… then again is that any better?
Okay, first of all, the game is NOT in a better state then it was when it released 20 years ago. It certainly wasn’t perfect back then and the game is currently pretty good (I’ve played off and on over the years.), but the health of the game now as related to the health of the industry as a whole is not even arguably “better”. I played the game consistently from launch up into Cataclysm. While the people I started playing with left just before Wrath, I found another group to play with (from wrath into cataclysm), but they hated Cataclysm (which I actually really liked) and left so I ended up dropping at the end of Cata and have checked back in occasionally since then but this is the first time I’ve “checked back” that I actually feel like the game is fun. That said, the game has always had problems and always will have problems. The Devs lost their way for a while, but I get the feeling they’re getting back on track… for me the question is whether it’s soon enough, or has too much damage already been done.
As for class balance now, I really feel like it’s pretty good and there’s no class that I just wouldn’t play from a balance perspective (especially since I know it can change any time), but there are alot of classes, even “powerful” ones, that I can’t bring myself to play because they lack character (such as warlocks… they might as well trafficking with teddy bears and have rubber ducky companions for as scary as “demons” are in this game now.)
This game is basically impossible to balance in all ways. If people are that concerned about a few pct, or even 10pct, learn to play more than one class. Every freaking one of these stupid posts about balance all over here and Reddit have infuriated me for years now. It literally never stops. If you know how to play 5 classes, I promise you this problem will never even cross your mind again.
