the official rune previews were all boots and belt. datamined runes are showing 3 each for belt and boots for most classes. hunter and mage are getting 4 belt and 3 boot runes. others with 7 are getting an additional pants or chest rune, which are slots we already have.
this means it looks like none of the helm or bracer runes will be added in p2, which will have a major impact on the theorycrafting currently being done.
who is theorycrafting bracer and helm runes? some of them are for skills you do not get until 41+ they are obviously phase 3 stuff datamined.

Correct, Helm runes were confirmed not for Phase 2.
if you look up “wowhead sod p2 datamine runes” you’ll see exactly what i’m talking about. pmuch every class except shaman has 5-6 runes listed there for helm and bracers.
juicy stuff too, like Summon Felguard, Backdraft, Void Zone, Honor Among Thieves, T.N.T.
yes and they are just datamined stuff for phase 3 that is subject to change. the only runes we are getting in phase 2 are belt and boots. (and the chest rune for shaman)

With the datamined runes pretty much being confirmed, I think i’ll be maining Holy Priest and Tank Rogue in Phase 2.
I’ve decided it. Not changing my mind. Nope.
i’ll be maining 3 specs of shaman, 3 specs of warlock, and probably 3 specs of warrior lol.
it all looks fun!
It is extremely clear when you look at all of them and realize many bracer/helm runes are for abilities you can’t get until 42+
Also when many Classes didn’t have any bracer or helm runes datamined. But all had Belt and Boot runes
It was pretty obvious from the beginning that Helm and Bracers runes weren’t going to be in phase 2.
Anyways, melee dw hunter is playable in p2
No one was theorycrafting helm or bracer runes I would hope. Any theorycrafters would have noticed the helm and bracer runes involve abilities that we don’t earn until after level 40, making it clear they’re not going to be in Phase 2.
If Melee Hunter actually becomes meta in P2 I will eat my shorts.

It being meta isn’t the point, it being a viable option that’s not awful is the point.
Not everyone cares about being 100% optimal, but everyone cares to some degree about being viable.

Meta for what? For PvP? Absolutely not.
For PvE? Who knows. Rogues and Warriors are getting hit hard by the no-bleed no-poison restrictions in Gnomer. I think if fight durations are short enough Feral may be the king since it has the best burst CDs including crowd pummeler and was already doing pretty well, but a melee type Hunter could be up there.
