It would not cost $12mil+ to upgrade a dozen servers. C’mon now.
Not really, there just aren’t millions interacting with each other on one caldera island. Same goes for one summoner’s rift or one pokerstars table etc.
GW2 is pretty much a megaserver too lol.
There are ALWAYS people around in every zone level.
It does not work the same as WoW servers do but the comparison is still viable in the sense that millions of player are interacting with dozens of databases at the same time, which are also interacting with eachother.
Blizzard’s issue is players querying the databases. It’s what bogs everything down apparently. There are ways to fix this because other games (ESO) connect millions together on a sharded megaserver. You don’t need to be a network engineer to know their blue post is pure BS. We connect millions of people to databases, simultaneously, every single day, in virtually every other application.
Haha you are joking right ? 200k a month is ~13,000 players. They are making closer to 20 million a month.
Engineers literally robbing blizzard for doing no work
You said you didn’t want crossrealm. Here is what no crossrealm looks like. You cannot have your cake and eat it too.
(I also do not want crossrealm.)
you should see how trash cyrodiil runs LUL. Everywhere else is decent tho
Thanks for adding this lol, because I was gonna correct you. Cyrodiil has always been an issue, but at least people are minimally able to log in and play.
Always amusing to read posts made by armchair experts.
No one here claimed to be an expert. Just calling out the obvious lies anyone with any more than room temp IQ can clearly discern.
And here we see the Dunning-Kruger effect in full effect. ![]()
Lets assume that is the case. Classic has been out for many years, queue were problems from day 1 of classic, and THEY sold transfers to mega serves (example: Benediction). So they knew the amount of players were past the limit yet they didnt take months nor even years to increase the size of the servers and still kept on selling transfers to mega servers.
first things first, they need to implement the modern AH and offload it to a badass cluster that can handle the load. That would solve the biggest issue holding this all back.
I’m a software engineer and can confirm we’re all armchair software engineers. Where do you do yours from? The rafters?
an ergonomic office chair without arms, clearly. ![]()
No arms? Barbaric. Must be private sector.
that’s the cost to rewrite wow classic >.>’
Lol oh no they have to do their jobs?
so where does the $15 a month from millions of players go?
Im seeing a ton of Sulfuras players in AV tonight.
