Dev's can you explain "WORLD CREATURES"?

I have uncollected recipes and some can be obtained from world creatures.

Does that mean that recipes can drop from any mob from that expansion including raids/dungeons? :rainbow: :fallen_leaf:

Thank You.

I think it might be from any creatures in the open world (aka not instanced content).

I know some items are listed as “world drop” but in reality they actually drop from a handful of specific mobs in a specific area so I think it’s better to just look on wowhead right away than waste time trying to get a GM to tell you to go look on wowhead xD

Yes, I would like to know exactly what they define as ‘world creatures’. I have unlearned patterns I would like to obtain and the information I get is “drops from world creatures”. What exactly does that mean?

So - while THAT specifically may take a while to implement, and it might be something just to keep you searching - WoWhead’s got a pretty user-friendly page for every recipe and what’s dropped it the most. :relaxed: Might narrow down your searches a little bit.

One day we’ll get that on retail! One day!!

I know this is an older post but I was looking for this answer recently and have information that could help. I just ran Blackrock Spire (Raid) and from the final boss dropped a crafting pattern for my blacksmithing, Whitesoul Helm. This is listed in the profession log as a “World Creature” drop, but obviously dropped while in an instance. So I would assume this means “World Creature” means anything from that expansion can drop it.
