Really, Blizzard? I can’t believe that you made this spec, tested it and didn’t find it weird that the “casting” stance is the regular unarmed combat stance. I don’t think a new casting stance needs to be made for Devourer, just let them default to the warglaive stance once they are in the combat stance mode. Watching my character raising his fists at the target after casting a spell is awkward.
Evoker suffered from the same in their visage form since release, and only now on the beta it seems like the visage form for evokers has a proper casting stance. Two years later.
Don’t take 2 years to fix Devourer’s casting stance. It’s the spec you have been announcing as the brand new thing for Midnight, so you should deliver it properly.
their thought was should they have glaives sit on their back as they spam consume with their bare hands or not, if you right click and start auto attacking you should unsheath and pull your glaives out, but it’s all very inconsistent and looks awkward.
Consume should be better animated so they can bridge the gap between casting and looking like a DH using his glaives.
Ironically, there is a cool Warlock “idle-casting” stance that is currently not used, but the Lock community would probably lose it if it was given to DHs, as they’re been wanting that ever since it was datamined (and displayed on the character creation screen).
But what can we expect, when they launched the spec without even proper customization options as they promised? (and later edited it out from their article). I hope it’s in the works, casting animations as well, as even the active ones are borrowed from Warlocks.
But please, don’t take until the end of Midnight to do so.
