What is it at the basic level?
I am so lost and clueless but want to at least try this from Havoc.
What is it and a good way to set the bars for it?
You spam consume until you get enough fury to cast void ray. You press reap once you have a proc of voidfall meteors or eradicate.
Thatās pretty much it.
If playing voidscarred, you pretty much ignore reap unless you are specced into eradicate, and press voidblade and the hunt on cooldown.
So Im playing it now and like you said. I feel like I spam consume until void ray is available, then keep spamming consume and then reap to gather orbs until metamorphasis is available and then back to consume again. Is that it? Where is collapsing star I read about? I have it talented too.
Once you have the requisite amount of souls you enter metamorphosis.
Once in metamorphosis you continue your spell priority until you gain 30 more souls to cast collapsing star. Collapsing star replaces metamorphosis while you are in metamorphosis
Collapsing Star is on the same button as Void Meta- it requires that you first enter Void Meta and THEN get 30 more souls in order to use. The final apex talent, which you will get while leveling in Midnight, will allow a āfreeā collapsing star upon entering Void Meta. Without the apex talents, yeah, it feels like it takes a while to get there.

For Antihalation you spam Consume while running around to pick up fragments, then you cast Void Ray when it is up and reap when there are 4 or more fragments spread around, then once you have enough go into meta and repeat until you can cast Collapsing Star and keep repeating so you can cast Collapsion Star as much as possible before losing meta. You prettymuch ignore the melee talets and just use consume and throw glaive while running to the next encounter.
Reap is good with āBeckonā pvp talent.
For pvp
The burst combo is
Hunt Hungering Slash, Vengeful Retreat, Voidblade, Hungering Slash. Vengeful Retreat. Reap, Consume, Reap Consume Void Ray is the combo and its a pretty consistent one shot or close,
Sustain is void blade, slash retreat, reap consume, reap consume , and spam that till u can void ray and repeat will meta

So what Iāve found that seems to be working (havent played the beta or anything so im pretty fresh to the spec) is -
- Cast consume
- once 4 souls are on the ground cast reap to boost fury (do this until you reach max fury)
- cast void ray
- cast eradicate (reap turns into this after void ray, its CD is also reset so donāt worry about it being on cooldown)
- metamorphosis once its available
You basically want to continue doing the same rotation in while in metamorphosis but I think theres a few tricks you can do. I also run emptiness instead of soul glutton because the 15 soul shard reduction doesnt seem worth it specially with the fury drain. I think it works better in meta too
- Cast void ray immediately in meta
- cast eradicate
- spam consume (also have the umbral blade talent that reduces reap CD based off haste)
- cast reap whenever its up
- cast collapsing star once its available (ideally you want void ray available after the cast of star)
- cast void ray
- caste eradicate, etc
I seem to get 20+ souls after casting star - void ray - eradicate and can get 2-3 collapsing stars off each meta. Granted iām only 104ilvl so it will probably scale up when you get more haste
I just consume, reap, ray, reap, repeat. Get a ray before going meta; ray, meta, aoe reap, ray, aoe reap, then just get souls for star.
If you play ranged Annihilator, never use Void Blade or Vengeful Retreat when you are in Meta, it will not give you fragments and just wastes time that you could use to gather fragements to get a second or third Collapsing Star off.
FYI - also there is now a Void Elf DH trainer in the DH area in the Mage Quarter in Stormwind. And the Void Elf āgothsā near the Cathedral of light say that you are āalmost dark enoughā to join them.

Hahā¦oh my, but thatās a delightfully funny little detail to sneak in. Its dumb, but I love it anyway lol.
Played a lot of beta. The annihilator rotation is consume until you can void ray, void ray, reap only if you have eradicate talented and itās for aoe or you have 3 stacks of voidfall, rinse and repeat until you have enough souls for void meta. Once you have enough souls for meta you continue to consume until you can get one more void ray out, then press void meta, then reap (respecting the same rules as before), then void ray, then consume spam until you have either void ray or collapsing star available to press.
Donāt press reap just to gather souls, itās what should be correct but it is not in its current design.
