idk what it is, but a lot of them have TERRIBLE dps. are people playing this spec because its pretty, blue, and new? or is it just in demand and people don’t know how to play it?
In this 10 key (just came back for the season a few weeks ago, I’ve been busy, don’t judge me for doing baby keys.) and this DH is doing a solid 20k on this last boss.
It is extraordinarily punishing if you do not play it well. If you have to move on a collapsing star cast, you may as well pack it up and pack it in cuz there’s no coming back from it.
You must also have a minimum amount of haste for it to be remotely viable.
I can tell it’s a hard spec to play, I’ve either encountered good Devourers or just downright horrific bad devourers. I’m assuming it’s up there in difficulty with rogue.
It’s the new shiny spec and it’s getting flavor of the month privs because Blizzard wants everyone to play it, so absolute crappers are picking it up and playing badly. It’s no different than when Havoc was released.
Yeah, but do these people seriously need to come into keys and do the bare minimum DPS? If I could, I’d leave mid-key; it’s getting a little annoying carrying these people.
The spec is the pure definition of “easy to pick up, hard to master”. The way it’s designed and what you have to manage on this spec makes it look easy cuz there’s like 3 buttons but the way you use them makes a giant difference.
So’s mine, idc cause I’m having fun figuring it out though I do care because, yeah my dps is pretty low on Twibiju in either spec which I just find weird (I only do LFR queued these days).
Once you get rolling on devourer, you’ll eventually get better at it.
Best advice, go to a training dummy and set up your buttons in a way you’re comfortable with until you “get” how the spec works. I use a combo of the one button rotation thing, and having my abilities bound from 1-6 and then shift 1-6
and lesser used thing bound to alt etc.
And just get comfortable with how the spec should work.
When buttons get shiny, hit them. You can also move backwards via shift 1 (if you bind like this), and also cast thing while moving.
But yeah, the dps does seem a bit low on mine, but she’s like ilvl 244 or something. But probably because I’m trying to figure out what I’m doing and trying out mechanics for the first time at some points.
Plus I wonder if the in game meter is just bugged? Mine is like half of everyone else’s dps and it literally makes no sense.
I’m just trying to figure out why 99% of the key fanbase can’t play this spec. It’s almost as though the higher the key, the worse the DPS becomes. I’m not expecting Liquid numbers, but I am expecting an average higher than 20k-35k on single target.
This one DH I was just with was terrible; sometimes the DPS would be 4k-10k.
I really do think our dps gets lower the higher I gear. But I can tell you I’m probably itemized badly, but even that should at least put me in the 20K, I replaced a couple of pieces and I’ve dropped down to about 15K and haven’t changed anything else. But anyways:
Do you really want to go there, I have screen shots and video. Internet’s expanded over the years. Rig, I got screenies of my UI.
Cast spam filler, eye lazerz, ball muncher nuke, ascend to mega emo (and same button to drop your tears of sacrifice on people).
I said 3 instead of 4. Do people play with firefart active now? I don’t know I only tried the class a while ago and the build I used had passive immolation thingy.
I mean, i mean no disrespect when saying this, but its a 10, at this point in the season you’re not exactly getting the best a brightest, its no different from tww s3 where after a point i started doing farm keys at 12 rather than 10 because they are smoother.
People think you can pick this spec and just faceroll, but you can’t, i don’t necessarily agree with the other guy saying if you move during one CS cast you’re donezo, but there is an output tax on cancelled casts, if you cancel a star in ST it means you’re nnot getting a 5th cs, a missed meta void ray in aoe is even worse imo because it usually means one less CS AND eradicate(and meta eradicate is your second biggest dmg)
It’s a weird spec, because it feels like you have to be at full everything in order to really play it (I have the button that helps with that). Havoc isn’t like that at all. Still low dps either way, but I don’t die unless I do something really dumb. And I do use all of my abilities at one point or another.
