It’s bad enough you have to choose between being able to remove debuffs or interrupt spells, but you can’t remove magic buffs. I get that warlocks have a tanking pet and are supposed to be tanky and have a lot of utility (well, used to… I think their utility has been fairly normalized in all but very specific situations), but “Devour Magic” or whatever it’s called is what’s making it hard for me to main this guy.
Help me to understand why this is necessary or desirable - maybe I’m missing something.
Devour Magic is on the same pet that interrupts, so its going to be out for certain content anyway (Locks need baseline int). With that said, in dungeons, there are a lot of cases where dispelling a magic effect (Devour Magic) on an enemy mob is greatly beneficial to the group.
While Imp can dispel players, a healer “should” have that’s under control, unless needing the workload lifted.
In short, use your FelPup for any cases where you’re wanting interrupts and offensive dispels.

Can the Felpup actually devour magic in 8.3? I don’t see it anywhere and that’s what’s concerning me. The other clothees (mage/shadow priest) can interrupt, remove beneficial buffs from enemies and remove some debuffs from allies.
I see “Spell Lock” on the Felpup, but I don’t see any ability to remove beneficial buffs from enemies or remove debuffs from allies. The latter seems really important in mythic+ dungeons.
Yup, that’s the interrupt for warlock, though would be much better suited as a baseline ability (hint hint devs (oh, and this is simply a request that can be followed by discussion)).
So if you open up your spellbook with “p” you can see the warlock’s spells. While “Spell Lock” does show up on our spells under a variable “Command Demon” ability, it’s more suitable if we move to the “Pet” tab, which is to the right of your “professions” located at the bottom of the Spellbook pane (have the FelPup out).
This will show all the spells involved with the pet you have out currently, and will change when you switch. “Devour Magic” should be there as an offensive dispel on a 15sec cooldown, while you also have your “Spell Lock” on the same pet.
Hoping this helps
